The original contra is a favorite of mine as well. Though I actually like Contra 3 for the SNES best.
Yeah, Contra for SNES is a good "remasterization", but is the same jugability, does not change too much.
Which games to you play over and over again because you like them so much and they never seem to get old? Why do you like that game so much?
Contra 1 and 2, for the NES, that is the greatest shooter game for me!

I was playng PC games before that, and I have fond memories of Dark Forces and Nanotank. But I'm not sure that counts as a console. Then my big bro came to live with us (I was 8) and he got us all hyped up, buying gaming mags and watching N64 trailer videos too many times. Finally the N64 came out and Mario64 and Lylat Wars (Starfox64 to you) was our crack.Then there was Turok 2 but I didn't have the patience to see that to the end. I'd like to give that one another go. Then we got OoT and nothing else really mattered.

Hi guys, this is a thread very sentimental for me, i don't know if for all, remember old experiencies with my first console, well, we begin.
My first console was the Nintendo 64 with Super Mario 64 in 2006, pretty good moments.
God, so much words, I'll just say that I'm myself.
I'm trying to build an NES game in assembly, I found a couple of tutorials and I'm still looking and learning. This is unfortunately my first time delving into the assembly language. So it's a hellish delight. Cause it is unbelievably simple once you get past the essential code language. It's very root level and therefore once the basic understanding is there it won't be too bad. But does anyone here know assembly? I initially started with this tutorial https://squareknot.com/workshop/3805/project/5933 but it in all honesty just gave me the knowledge to build a box that the NES can recognize. I've now found this tutorial http://nintendoage.com/forum/messagev…2&threadid=7155 which cause of my internet and time and computer I have to copy paste it to really be able to read it. So I'm archiving it and it seems pretty in depth so hopefully it works out. I already have a sprite making application, emulator, debugger, and compiler so tools wise I'm good. It's just a pain to find any definitive and decent content for assembly for some reason. I'm aware it's unbelievable primitive still though it's a shame there isn't more out there.
