My knee reaction is not to count Hyrule Warriors as a Zelda game, but considering that it is a Zelda based game, where even though the mechanics are different the whole world and characters are Zelda related. It is an adventure taking place in the Zelda universe.
I remember something said to that effect of the yearly release but I can't recall if it was said by someone representing Nintendo. Even looking back I feel that they have been trying to do smaller scales games to keep the gaps. Some year console games like the HD remakes and some others were the portable ones. So I definitely see them keep trying to use the franchise to persuade more purchases in the upcoming years.
I definitely agree with you... I feel they will be ported, it would be such a waste not to do that being iconic games. I think they could be working on the Skyward Sword HD and at the same time keeping the wind waker and the twilight Princess ready to close the gaps of dry months or delays. So they won't be announced straight away. They wanna sell us Super Mario Bros U for 59.99 bleh. I can still buy Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U for 59.99, I can buy Splatoon 1 for 59.99 these prices are outrageous. My Walmart still is trying to get rid of an excess of copies of the Wii Michael Jackson game. (Damn that game came out like 8 years ago and Nintendo obviously thought it was going to be a hit)
I find it ridiculous in general they expect you to pay full price for games that are basically ports with not enough extra content to justify the double purchase. Get Hyrule Warriors for the Switch and get two BotW extra outfits!! It reminds me of the Malibu Stacey episode of the Simpsons.
How can Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U still be that expensive?
Mario kart 8 Dx I feel conflicted, they added more than just the DLC of the WiiU version, they added the multiplayer ballon and a few other modes but then again, should we really be clapping they added the mode back when it should had been there from beginning but they were lazy and axed it. If people hadn't complained about it probably it wouldn't be part of the Dx version. The other multiplayer modes are also interesting but that the switch version has that extra content just makes it even more baffling that the Wii U version didn't come down if it is lacking these things.
Hhahaha, that Michael Jackson Wii game. Maaaan. That's so funny your Walmart stil haven't been able to sell them all. -
They played the card of "Right now there's nothing to say about this subject" which some are taking as a denial but it is not the first time Nintendo pretends nothing is going on just to throw people off the scent. I am pretty sure Aonuma teased Majora's Mak 3D back in the day, and I cracked up later on seeing the 3D model of the mask in A Link between worlds. For a moment I saw possible taht the teasing was just been mischievous prank with the pun on a literal Majora's Mask being displayed on the 3DS. In the end we all know how that teasing ended: The games were being in production at the time.
So, I don't feel as confident as to bet anything but I definitely feel there's possibilities to allow to have hopes for it to come to be. -
When I was five I went through NES games not understanding the text. I was not only bad at reading, I didn't know english back then. haha. Your kid is doing awesomely. I hope the games spark his imagination the way it did with many of us.

Glad to hear Linux Ubuntu is still going strongly. That looks way better than I'd expect, but then again when I hear Ubuntu I am thinking of what Linux was like like 15 years ago.
Considering the way Windows 8+ has been going, it is not surprising. If you feel comfortable with it and there isn't anything you feel you'll miss, it might as well be worth to jump away from Microsoft. -
That's really nice to hear you are doing better now.
Let's jope that remains. ^^

10/10
Definitely doing parenting right.
Man a mini Nintendo64 would be interesting but I grew with many Rareware games that I am sure I'd miss a lot, still, it would be interesting having a properly licensed N64 controller you could adapt.
As for the NES/SNES it is like you said. I ended up checking out modifiers for one of them to 'enrich' the experience. It is pretty inetresting what people have managed to emulate through it.

Under producing seem to be a movement Nintendo seems to be a tad too fond of. Just yesterday I was reading that Nintendo has ceased the production of the mini NES and SNES, so one they are sold out this holiday season, that's it.
The online service was fine while it was free, however as a paid service they can get stuffed. They are making people pay for a service when most of the games as P2P connections. One of their perks is NES online, which is almost unplayable even with high speeds if you happen to have latency. So for someone like me, living in Australia playing with someone from the US regardless of both having "fast internet" have a mess so lagging that getting pass a level in SMB3 is a frigging pain. And this is supposed to be a perk? it's like Nintendo still doesn't get that people connects with people all over the world, not just your neighborhood or state.
I had to laugh when you made the comparison of Nintendo's Voice chat to MSN service. How is it possible we don't have a proper friend list that lets us text and send invites to our friends to join our gaming sessions? How is it possible than in all this time I have basically only one game (Splatoon 2) using it for something else that just the voice chat?
the fact that, as you mentioned, the service from the competition launched almost twenty years ago is better than this is, frankly, embarrassing. Before the service was out I was trying to defend it, because I felt some complains were a bit petty but seeing that people got more disconnection problems, that you can't really play online NES games with others when frigging emulators have been able to do a better job of it for decades that they won't let you do cloud saves for some of the games (although discussing this with a friend their explanation kind of makes sense) and that they just seem to be doing the absolute minimal effort with it. Rather not bother including anything that will over complicate things even though they are expecting people to pay them. If hosting servers, as far as I understand though I could be wrong, are basically non-existent, what are we exactly paying them for? In the end our own internet is maintaining the online plays since the players connect to another directly to act as the hosting server. -
Yeah, I am pretty curious about it. It definitely is unexpectedly darker, which works well considering Pokemon has been going long enough to have adult fans. I want to watch it.
I think a small series like that would work nicely for The Legend of Zelda.

Oh, do you mean like letting Illumination Entertainment Studio be the ones in charge of doing a Super Mario Bros. movie?
To be honest I have mixed feelings about that. I think like you said, things have come a long way and specially f we think CGI, there is very likely we can get a very good story. Thing is I don't trust Illumination to do a memorable movie, all I would be hoping for is that it is not something bad. With movies like Toy Story, I feel like Pixar would make a better fit.
I think depending how the Pokemon movie and this SMB one turns out, we might get a chance to a proper stab at The Legend of Zelda. -
Yeah, that's pretty cool. It's good to know the build is with that quality of the original GameCube controller. Nice that your wavebird controller still works.

Those were pretty bad times, the two cities used to be like sisters before all this crap really blew up. I still find amazing when we discovered we were so close at some point, hahaha.

So it's been a month since the supposed reveal and I haven't heard anything about this. I wonder if the reveal was underwhelming or something.
Oh, I found this:

I am assuming this is the actual reveal. I guess the Wired really winded everyone up and got the attention they wanted with it, haha. -
Man, that really sucks. You had to go through buying a new controller before realizing it was the adapter. The errors it was causing you seemed to be pretty annoying and making the game barely playable by the sounds of it.
I don't care if it is just yours or not, if that one was faulty then that is a risk I definitely don't want to take so I am very glad you let us know and even took a capture of which one you actually bought last year.
Hopefully your newer adapter will be affordable and work as it is supposed to.

Very belated good wishes for you guys.
I hope you had a good time.
I guess it is coming anyway being 40s, 50s and probably the 90s, so I guess the best we can do is to enjoy today as much as we can. Time will pass regardless of what we do or stop doing. -
I think people are jumping the gun so I rather wait before getting too excited. That said, I definitely would like for them to do a proper update to the motion controllers in the game. i think with the two joy-cons and HD rumble, they could definitely enhance the controllers to be closer to what they envisioned back in the days of the Wii. This could be the excuse I need to actually once and for all play this game from beginning to end.
I definitely would like it of they brought the Twilight Princess and the Wind Waker HD games to the switch. It'd be fun having them on the go.
-
I'm not surprised one bit, haha.
I've never played the series but I know the franchise has a big following and it was a staple thing back in my high school days. It is great seeing this games people have enjoyed being able to be taken on the go without sacrificing that much of its looks or performance.

This is the root of the rumour:
An Aldi Shankar's instagram post picked up by The Wrap who claim to have the exclusive.
He never mentioned it was Zelda, people just jumped the gun and went with it. As you can read this statement is so vague that it doesn't even openly said Nintendo. Seems like in one week we'll get to know. Personally I think that Metroid would have more of a chance considering its darker tones and that gamers love Metroidvania k8ind of games.

I was about to edit out the godawful Navy colour I used to have. I don't even remember favouring blue. But that edit text. Haha. I don't wanna ruin it. This thread is over a decade old. I'm in awe. Sorry for burning your iris all this time. I was young and insecure.
... And I think I still think the same way about this game. LA was weird with cameos but cool. Bow Wow still rocks.

hahaha. You'd be welcome to remain ZeldaCommunity's ghost for all eternity if so you choose.
