I saw the title of this video and I thought of this thread immediately, haha

Honestly, I have been of a mind that the addition of voice acting simply comes down to music. They can't keep putting Zelda's lullaby on loop during dramatic cutscenes forever... Even if fans do call it artsy.
They were so restricted by that ridged format that they couldn't really make the cinematics that they were so clearly trying to make in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword because the player always had to press A.
This way, they can have free-flowing scenes with dynamic music without younger viewers getting frustrated by text that moves away too fast.

I don't mind the voice acting. I can understand there is a dynamism that you just can't capture with text and constant pausing between lines.

I imagine that some people find the voice acting a bit too drastic, haha.

Boom! This video announcement just happened:

It seems like the people are not really taking it well.
This model kind of reminds me of Hyrule Warriors. Do you think seeing how well it did, influenced Nintendo?
It also makes me think in Splatoon and how through adding weapons and stages periodically in order to give more to do.
Considering how empty vast worlds tend to be I wouldn't mind some updates similar to what the Satella View did in the past to get more juice out of BotW. I think the real surprise is the content in itself and the price for the Seasonal pass.

    What do you guys think?
@Sardonic Pickle if you make a Youtube rant you better post it here. :P

I think most like we won't be transferring anything to the switch but then again we have two weeks to change our minds.

Though if Switch has the GC emulator it might have GC Versions of TP and WW. You never know...

With the remakes out I see it less likely. Especially with TP and the wolf amiibo being relevant. they probably will want to push that for a while before adding the original file on the Switch's VC.

Every year I feel the crave to watch this. While the author speaks Spanish I am sure you will get it.
It is a mute animation with classic music. :P

Anyway, it's going to be Valentine's day soon. Anything planned?
Do you usually do something for it? Do you try to hide away from the world?
Let's talk and rant about San Valentine's Day.

I really never did much with my DS.
I remember clearly that I had...
    Animal Crossing Wild World
    :TLoZ:: :PH:
    :TLoZ:: :ST:

Someone lent me Pokemon Pearl and lost it when I took it all the way to Australia. Whoops.

I also never owned a Gameboy Advance so I used my DS Lite to play GBA games, hahah.

    The Organised Mind
    by Daniel J. Levitin

Most of us want to be more oganised, but this is the only book that has succeeded for me, because it backs it up with the modern neuroscience. Neuroscience is a big fascination for me right now, so it ws the perfect time to stumble on this. But even beyond how to be more organised, it goes into ways of making your brain healthier and happier. With very little effort, I now get twice as much done and feel half as tired. Amazing.

Sounds pretty intriguing to me. I might benefit from it and maybe recover a piece of me I feel I lost while growing up.

    Good memories.

Back in the day when it came out I got it first with OoT (gray cartridge with Green blood and no chanting) and Jet Force Gemini.

Then we got Super Smash Bros. Because I had tried out by renting it during some holidays.

I also was a huge fan of Xena so we got that Xena fighting game (curse Talisman I think is the name, will check later). Go Despair. Hahaha.

We also had a futuristic antigravity motorcycle race, very similar to FX-Zero I guess. GTX or something.

I missed on Golden Eye but Perfect Dark was one if my favourite games.

I have hunted these games down since I moved to have them again. Got the golden OoT version now. Yay.

We used to rent Mario Kart. Mario Party. Diddy Kong Racing. Pokemon Snap.

I think at some point we got both Pokemon Stadium games.

    icons it was a typo

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Ah, okay. :XD:
Do you mean the icons I was hoping to find to substitute in the index section to indicate new/old?

If so, I never really searched them, at the time I was just going to shrink the ones I used on older layouts:
    CatNon2.png
    CatNew2.png
Or try to see how I could manipulate our logo.

But then things happened. lost photoshop and I never did anything since it wasn't as high on my list as other things at the time..

I am surprised we haven't openly made a thread for this yet, so now that the 'Nx" has been fully revealed and we've given a taste of the games to come up this year, how are you feeling about the Nintendo Switch?

Are you going to get it on launch?
Are you planning to get it later this year or not at all?

What games are you excited about?

How do you feel the console stands?

I've watched trailers but not all the gameplay videos that have been out. I watched the very first one when I was trying to compile a list of features but now I feel like it is all in the open and I rather do the actual exploring and figuring out some of the open-world puzzles myself.

It definitely has gone beyond just teasing, although I don't feel like they have particularly spoiled most of the game. I think the amount liberated till now it is perfect. They have been really good at handling things, giving us a long starvation and the sprinkles that were kept in Crescendo right up to the Switch Presentation Third Trailer. I don't think they will add more, or at least I hope not, because if they do then I'll have to share your concern for this over-exposition of the game.

Usually, the stuff that feels overkills it is not Nintendo but the same fans overanalyzing things, like when they deciphered the Hylian language on the Tapestry and have found out what it says (which seems to be a prologue). That information, for me, is a big spoiler.

I feel this game is a call to the Zelda fans, including the old schoolers that never completely saw eye to eye with the 3D games. BotW seems like a second take on the original idea of what they expected Hyrule Fantasy to become back in the 8 bit era but without the limitations back then, and they have stacked everything quite high. Adding voice acting is probably one of the ballsiest movements.

I'm glad they've stuck to in-game footage rather that pre-rendered crap like most triple-A companies.

QFT. Nintendo is of the few that actually show gameplay. I hope they don't change that.

Oh, if you did that's fine. I wouldn't know. I also don't know your YouTube name, so if you've been commenting under another name I still couldn't tell. The problem with embedded players is the lack of direct feedback on the video's page itself.

Well, I made sure now. I have the same nick so you would recognise me straight away. I dn't think I really commented on them save for one or two.

Thanks for the Twitter plug by the way. And glad you got a job. ^.^

No worries and thank you! I am happy to be employed. It takes a load off my mind.
