As the E3 is nearing, I was wondering how are you guys feeling about it. Are you interested in this year E3?

What conferences are you looking forward to?

Is there anything you're hoping or wishing would happen this year?

Are you watching them live, later or just read the news in other websites?

They don't benefit you exactly. But it's a video format (like MKV or MP4 or AVI) but it is much more widely compatible with more browsers and places like 4chan, and Imgur use them to hold short .GIF like videos. And a good amount of the time the codecs take up less space then competitors.

That was the kind of thing I meant by 'benefit' if it compress things better, is becoming used by more popular sites and the like, then it is definitely to our advantage we are compatible with it.

I'd see what I can do. I have basically been in hiatus all of May but I am hoping that past the E3 I should be all sorted up and ready to resume all the things I have pendant. :)

Well if you want one that can behave in obscure resolutions and the file to be hosted on your website I can work that out for you guys, so that it'll be in a proper ratio with the site. It shouldn't be too difficult.

Thanks for the offer, for now I just rather see how the swap of text by image works, even if it is not a fancy arrow. I'll definitely keep you in mind for when I finally sit to do this.

Yeah I understand, I just am well enough versed in CSS and HTML for the Times new Roman font to grind on my nerves, on top of that it makes pretty much any website seem unfinished since it's pretty much any server's default font.

Yeah, I know what you mean about it being the default font and how it is not a style that makes things easier to read.
Xenforo, the platform we're using doesn't use Times New Roman for its default skin, which is the base to build any skin, so if our current layouts are using it, I think it was very likely a deliberate choice.

Once again, I really appreciate all the useful feedback we've gotten and I will fix these bugs.
    Thank you guys!

Take your time. It should be something adapted to you so it is not a tedious chore. I want to see you have fun!

Feel free to get my attention when you're about to start. If you have time to plan it ahead of time, feel free to use the shoutbox and stuff to let us.

All in all I don't mind people coming up with theories or even just simple what-if ideas. I agree a forum is a good place to share them, they might resonate with other people and you can always come back to them.

In the end am sure we all know the "it's just a game" and that many things we tie together are more coincidence that a purposefully inclusion. Like you said developers are more focused in making sure to create a good game than making sure each element has an explanation or obeys the laws of physics. This doesn't take away from the fun of trying to rationalise things and have them make some sense. It is also a great way to bond by discussing those ideas, that's how many theories start.

I appreciate you took the time to share your thoughts with us.

I think it is the first time I read someone suggest a link tying up this event with Dark Link. Two events largely discussed about OoT.
I suppose you prefer we keep things simple, so I'll try. Although I am darn babbler. So let me see if I get this.

    [INDENT]We have two timelines: T1 and T2.
T1 is Young Link (YL)'s original Timeline. All what we recall in the game up to the point we pick up the sword is in T1.
When YL is transported in the Seven Realm he inadvertently switches into T2. This is the reason people like Guru-guru mention things he didn't do.

So from now on going back in time means returning to T1 (I am not sure if traveling forward means returning to T2 or if we don't visit that timeline anymore)
So when YL-T2 entered the Sacred realm his soul was not sealed (because YL-T1 had accidentally taken his place) and instead the force of Darkness got hold of him and made him become Dark Link.[/INDENT]
This is why understand the idea suggests. If I am wrong the rest will not make sense, hahaha.:XD:
    Feel free to correct me.

At first I didn't think much of it, but it is kind of clever way to rationalise the paradox and at the same time explain the origin of a mid-boss who-se description is "conquer yourself".
I don't particularly believe it but it is a fun way to put it.

there are other things in the game, like the deku seed platforms, that don't appear in the future unless you plant them in the past, suggesting that YL has no effect on AL era unless you go back and actually do the stuff yourself.

This is the itch of the whole business. So far, you affect the past to get a result in the present, and this one is a bit different as it feels triggered before you did that change. Since the grandfather parable is just a loop, I guess this one can also be seen as such.

I remember another theory, where Zelda impersonated Link a few months after he was trapped in the Sacred Realm and was the one that put things in motion. She dried up the well, and then when Adult Link learns of this and travels back, he travels just to when he had taken the sword, which is a few months before Zelda tried. So, Link rewrites the past and is able to get the Lens of Truth. The idea is that this was the way Zelda thought she could point him towards retrieving the Sheikah treasure in the well. It kind of makes sense, except for the little fact that she had already given out the Ocarina to Link by that point. ;-P

How did the sages know about the other timeline in order to send Link there?

I don't think the sages sended Link anywhere, they just helped him within the timeline Link was in, for example when they made the rainbow bridge.
Instead of trying to answer your questions I had to go with this part. [emoji38]

Hola crap, that sure is messed up.

You cannot control the environment outside your home, like church going but make sure to have them banned from your house. Don't open the door to them. No matter how many years you have been together if they are frigging beating for nothing they are definitely not being your friends.

I suppose other people didn't jump in because it is a thorny issue, we don't know all the details and misguided advice by a bad assumption could get you in a even worse situation. it is good your uncle knows of this, even though he's not near you at this time.

The only idea I have is, how about you and your girlfriend change churches? Would that put you guys in a worse risk?
I am sorry you are going through all this crap.

A Link between world was a pretty enjoyable ride for me. I actually finished not long ago. I had been postponing the end until I located every mai mai. I had to screen grab to miiverse a last look to certain characters.

Score! :OoT: was my first Zelda ever too!

Zelda has more than what you initially could guess. Some people really go far with theories and assumptions about the royal family and different races in Hyrule.

Also, I feel so happy you found us through Google. I really hope we get more Zelda fans so we can talk freely about many games. Yay!

    Happy exploring! :^o^:

Sorry guys, I haven't much time to check in depth , but I appreciate your suggestions and reports.

    Hey two things,

For one, I notice you guys are still using Times New Roman, or similar for your font for your messages for the most part and it just kind of makes everything seem off. I noticed this from the start, so I was wondering if you guys ever considered changing to something like, Arial, or Courier New. You don't need custom files for those fonts just the code. There's also a few similar backup fonts that you can use in case a certain browser doesn't support it. (I've got that below if you want to see it)

    Code
    font-family: Arial,Helvetica, sans-serif; /*Arial*//*Courier New*/font-family:Courier New, Courier, Monaco, monospace; /*Courier New*/

Thanks. I find the current font fine so unless it is a big issue I rather leave it like this.

Also there's a deal with the "Top" link it is just a little hard to get to. So if you want you could do something like have a button like s0pjmskazo.ico this. For CSS and such you just need to have this added anywhere on the main index.php file since it is the root file for all the pages it seems. Just add it to any global part of the website.

    HTML
    <a href='javascript:scroll(0,0);' id='goupbutton' style='position:fixed;bottom:30px;right:35px;'><img src='http://www.iconj.com/ico/s/0/s0pjmskazo.ico' height='28' width='28'/></a>

If you guys want to do the second one let me know cause I made up the arrow button and am using some random host for it so I can just send you guys the actual file if you want

Edit: I changed link for the top of the page situation so that it works better and used some JS instead of trying to link to an ID

Thanks, no sweat, if we implement it we would make sure to have the file directly in our server. It's just better that way. I don't think I'd implement a fixed floating thing, but I can change the bottom url to have an icon if that makes it easier.

Maybe later on when I understand better how to ensure it will behave no matter the device resolution I can try some float.

There's this which is more of a bug right now. But the Chat Popup option leads to a page that is apparently inaccessible for a regular user.

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention.
I will look up that. Since we can use the chat just fine, I suppose the permission error comes from the page url itself. Hopefully it is a quick fix.

Does anyone actually use the Media Gallery or Resource Manager here? Might be worth trying to add some content there, to not make them look so dead...

I am planning to simplify the categories of the media manager and promote its use.

For now, basically if it is Zelda images and videos, consider using it instead of opening a thread. I will try to come up with some fun activities and medals to entice its use.

As for the resource one. I have to get back to you guys. anyway, I will ytry to add some tutorials and dispel the confusion. I think that is what stops most people.

Adding Webm to the Resource option list of accepted formats might be a good move.

I haven't heard about this format. Mind elaborating what kind of files are those and how would we benefit from adding them? :)

From the diagram shown. It seems to be a white and black approach. Either you give a positive result or not.

This means that for example printing a book that allows it might get the whole thing cancelled if it included an excerpt from another book attached to the system as prohibited. You could have paid for the book. That it was made before this system means squat. I doubt you will be able to prove purchases for old material.

It would be better to analyse the amount of matched data. If we're allowed to cite a certain percent of a work in our own writings, that should be taken in account at the time of printing. You need to cite copyrighted material so you are, you know, not trying to claim it as your own but actually send people to the source.

Anyway, from that preliminary look it looks really bad. I agree with LS, if people can avoid it they will probably will.

You can embed directly your twitch video in the forum if you press the "video" icon. (n_n)
I am sorry I have been out this fortnight so I missed this completely. I've subscribed to your twitch with notifications enabled so no matter the time I should get notified as it happens. 5am CST is 8pm AEST so hopefully no worries on my end.

Glad it worked out well, @fiercediety. I appreciate lots you came back to tell us what you did to make it work. If someone else runs with the same problem, hopefully this will be useful for them. (n_n)

Also, you found us through tapatalk? Score!

That's a pretty cool project. I always enjoy people sharing music they like. It is a great way to find new bands and reconnect with some older underrated bands out there that you listened but never retained the name.I fully support your project. I have 'subscribed' and I will be listening to what you have already shared, little by little.

Very nice photographs. I used to take pictures and post them in flickr long time ago. I like that you go for different angles. Looking good.
I hope you share some more.

I have a bayou in my neighborhood so I may borrow my uncle's kayak and go to see if I can get any good wildlife ones. I went with him the other day and we saw some alligators up nice and close and plenty of turtles and some snakes, n' cranes and so on. Plenty there to photograph.

That sounds pretty exciting. Feel free to share them if you do this. :D

found this place after going on a forum hunt for Zelda communities after zelda legends got shutdown (at least that's what I think) I can only access it through wayback machine. I booked marked this site along with some others.

Hey man, nice to meet you.
I don't remember much from ZL, but I believe that's where the then named Enchanted Toaster shared most of the the smilies we're currently using. I thought their forum had been down for ages. Anyway, it is great you found us!

Hi Joe. Pleased to meet you!
It is great to have you around. Hopefully you might show us some of your creations later on. :^o^:
I like your avatar, it is cute.

And since @ShiroMZM will have my rear if I don't do it. I am afraid I must ask you to answer our...

I do have a lot in my mind regarding this but then I realise that it is mostly assumptions.

Since I don't even know for sure what the Wii U is or is not, I can't really assess the implication of the dual release. It could still be the case the NX is not even a stand alone console and they used that wording as to not give away anything before time. For all we know. Or it could be the rumours are right.

Now for the discontent of many, i have a theory: What it sounds like at this point is that throwing it on the Wii U feels like an afterthought, like they have because they said they would. Two years ago some people bought the Wii U and a big part that persuaded them in favour was the upcoming Zelda U game. Regardless that the Wii U has offered other great titles meanwhile the main interest of many was this game and the promise it was coming. It is not secret that the Wii U and people defending it received a lot of negativity. Heck, the media kept burying the Wii U all during its lifespan and in a childish, selfish way this was the title that would shut them up. The bragging right if you will. Nintendo deciding to pass it to start the NX marks Nintendo giving reason to the idea of a failed console and give the fans a dilemma as even though the game is coming out to the Wii U, it is coming the day the console becomes 'past generation'. This felt for some people slightly insulting when they put that huge amount of faith in them. It is a dent in their trust with the company.

I guess it is easy to get contrived in a victimisation frame, but the reality is that Nintendo didn't plan things to go like this from begining. They expected the Wii U to sell way better than it did and they gave the first tentative date expecting it to be close to the actual release date. things happens. As the Wii U sales were doing poorly more and more weight fell on Zelda U to be a good game, specially when the latest announcements,, including the Triforce Heroes, got mixed results and average sales. It is no wonder they decided to delay the game and make sure to add what they could to make it work to the best the console could allow. This bring us to this moment, almost four years since its release. Console generations usually last 5 years so now the NX is in its way. Nintendo got already most of the big guns out and most of the people who was going to buy a wii U already did so. They accepted this and are trying to learn from their mistakes and get the next console well prepared before launch. They are making sure not to reveal anything until after E3. They are making sure to hold their big card and they are trying to prepare a library of enticing games before releasing it.

As a fan of Zelda, it makes me sad Zelda U won't be released this year, specially with the 30th landmark but I am more interested in Nintendo succeeding in their next generation and for that they need to really focus and do things right. they need to really understand what went wrong and why. I support they delay the game even if it is just withholding a finish product simply because by today's reality if they released the Wii U version first it no longer would be a card for NX. Within one week the internet would burn the game to the ground. Let's play with teh full game, guides, theories, explanations. It'd be an old thing long before the NX launches.

I guess taht is pretty much what there is to it. If it is not jam, you can't really force it. Like I said, for me it is mostly being able to interact with people I don't usually do and having unexpecting answers around. If it wasn't for that I'd probably be bored by now, but the fact that the interaction is genuine has given place for some interesting mini-discussions.
I also still keep the hope that we can get Zelda based costumes we can acquire for our Miis at some point, especially with the upcoming Zelda game reveals in june and this being the 30th anniversary. :lengua:

The most surprising thing for me is that there are no word censors and you're able to use any picture from your device and share any Miifoto into twitter and facebook, hahah.

Here's the obligatory Brentalfloss' lyrics rendition:

I tried it out today, actually. Because I read a Kotaku review being ridiculous saying you needed to it your leg in certain position and what not. I admit I died a few times, but I felt improvement in my skills once I got the hang of it. I don't have barrel roll embed in my head, but I noticed some choices to make your range.

I think most of the issue with the controllers is that it is easy to try to do both, aim and steer the vehicle, with the left stick. If you aim just moving the gamepad and just flick the left stick to correct trajectory, I found it works really well. I also like the two screen thing. When it locks in a target you can see easily where you are in relation to it and use the cockpit view to properly aim and stuff.

I have only played the first three levels, and I have had to try a different craft for each, but they do give you time to try to get the hang of it.
