Hmm, you seem to be into this weird idea that we cannot have an argument about it without respecting that other people have different views. It can totally happen and become an interesting exchange. I know it helps me challenge my own notions and stop seeing black and white other people's opinions.

It sounds to me like you have a very strong opinion regarding this but are defensive about people picking apart your reasoning. We might counter with the way we think but it won't be a personal attack or trying to force you to change your mind.
Either way it is good to talk about our beliefs and rationalizations to correct and reaffirm our own ideas. Otherwise topics like this become taboo and paradigms. It is healthy to question and understand why we think the way we do, and a good way is exchanging ideas.
