I'm tamping down on my shame reflex pretty hard right now.

I actually didn't think Legacy got that far before dying. I wonder if I still have the plot outline sitting around somewhere.

Also: Aurora was a cool character. Her power was simple, unique, and badass. Essentially, she could imbue objects she held with energy, making them effective weapons. So she could pick up a stick and swordfight with it, for example.

Honestly, with a little tweaking and polish, Aurora's powers could be fit for a pretty neat fantasy story.

Ho shit, I'd forgotten about that commercial. Fuckin' badass, mang.

The Dead Island trailer is the best thing ever. I have no actual interest in the game, but if this shit doesn't make you cry then you're dead inside:

And of course, all three of the Shovel Knight trailers give me chills. Though I think this one is probably my favorite:

Yes, some of you diehard retro gamers may remember that the original 'Halo' game was actually on the Nintendo Entertainment System and was a registered copyright of Nintendo R&D1. However the game got abismal sales and was lost in Nintendo's back catalogues of their poorer products - several million unsold copies of 'Zombies Ate my Neighbours' are also rumored to line these not-so-hallowed halls of Nintendo's main offices in Japan.

A certain Mr. Fred Gamelot stumbled across this stark reminder being one of the few people to play the game. He claimed to have been "shocked" yet "pleased" to find that such a great "gaming title had original been made by Nintendo" and felt "ashamed to think that he had believed that a company of Microsoft's standards" had invented such "novel gaming".

Here we can see a reference image of the original cartridge that Fred found whilst cleaning out what he described as an "everyday dirt mess in an urban ghetto"

Mr. Gamelot has been in contact with Nintendo of America over this blatant breach of both trademarked name, and gameplay style, the original 'Halo' was dubbed to be a "fine top-down-shooter, innovative game that brings whole new levels of violence into the home, graphically, it can't get much better than this" by an independent games magazine.

NoA have still yet to release an official press statement, but it seems highly likely that a court case could be go - another item to stand alongside Nintendo's impressive legal history of shutting down porn sites because they may offend Nintendo product consumers, closing down established sites in fear that they might one day sell up shop and cash in on Nintendo trademarks, attacking piracy in China - causing a mental nightmare for all of China's up and coming script kiddies.

Indeed, what a revelation in gaming this has turned out to be. We look forward to seeing Nintedo's response to how they forgot about this title and how an "emo" child from a sub-urban gangbang may be charging them a hefty commission for his findings.

Note: This is touchy shit. Feel free to participate in this discussion, but don't be reactionary. If you're angry while you're typing, or if you're thinking about how sick your burns are going to be, then you should probably take a break and come back. We're all friends here.

Also Note: This is a conversation. If you post in this thread, you are inviting people to ask questions, and make counterarguments. They should do so while respecting your humanity, and hopefully you will be willing to give answer to their questions and arguments.

I'm curious to know the metaphysical beliefs of the Zelda Cavern community. What do you believe, why do you believe it, how do you stand in relation to the community of those who believe similar things?

I'm a hard atheist and skeptic. I assert that there is no entity which would meet any reasonable definition of divinity. I have also, on occasion, referred to myself as an anti-theist. I do believe that the concept of 'faith,' and the religions which are built on that concept, do more harm than they do good. However, I also believe that most of the time, asserting that belief similarly does more harm than good. I am perfectly happy to be friends with anyone who doesn't make their religion other people's problem. (My lifelong friendship with
@kilovh, an ordained Rabbi, attests to that).

I do believe that, on a whole, atheists are treated unjustly in America. Five years ago I was actively involved in atheist communities and slacktivisim. Unfortunately, while the "New Atheism" movement seemed to have a promising start, it began to attract the wrong sort of crowd. Sexists, libertarians, pedants. There are good people in there, but the movement as a whole is distasteful to me. I'd prefer to focus on more pressing issues (poverty, transphobia, racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.), and let the prejudice that exists against atheists fade away naturally with time.

I will elaborate on anything you're curious about, and I will answer any questions you have. Lets talk.

^ Is some kind of teenaged rebel. But what could he be rebelling against?!
< Used to be a teenaged rebel. I hid D&D books in my room.
< Is not a steak fanatic.
V Also used to be a teenaged rebel.

Sweet. Alright, well I work a lot (way too much) and play video games when I'm not busy doing family shtuff. Also am 420 friendly...if that ever even comes up.

I'm disappointed in you. Please seek help.

(F'reals though, we got a thread for good drug stories if you've got any.)

That information is classified by the government. Just kidding, but I really don't know what we are going to set up as far as events in the future go. We could get the community involved in Cards Against Humanity again if we wanted, but I think some of us may want to do something different next time. I have no idea, so we'll just have to wait and see for further updates.

I will totes run Dungeons and Dragons if people want to do that. We could also figure out if we share any multiplayer PC games and arrange times to play those.
