It's nice to see Animal Crossing getting an update. That's the sorta game that would really benefit from more frequent attention.

The only real standard I care about is to be effectively understood. Grammar plays a flexible role in that. sometimes when im messaging with younger friends or being very casual i dont use caps or punctuation
if im bein a silly silly jokester or just super casual i might talk 2 u w ver abbrev language
My most natural writing style is what I tend to use here most often. I tend to over use commas and exclamation points, like a lot of people do. Also sometimes I unconsciously capitalize words when I have to think about how to spell them.

Regrettably I've never been good at matching my word choice to the situation, so even when I do modulate my grammar I tend to talk like a dweeb.
Actual hoity toity 'proper' English grammar is a chaotic mess that mostly isn't even real English grammar. English is an evolving language, changes happen all the time. Some people like to pretend they don't, but that's just so they can use grammar as a pedantic cudgel.
I think I care a lot more about grammar now than I used to, primarily because of the realization that it was just as flexible as every other part of the language.

I've got one of those cards in a box somewhere! Sent to me some 20 odd years ago by someone we used to know.

I only tend to pre-order if it's a favorite series of mine. So something like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Yakuza/Like a Dragon.
Solid choices for favorite series btw.
What makes that worth doing for you? Is the merch/pre-order bonus enticing? It's not usually difficult to get a day 1 copy of a game like that, is it?

I don't know how much of a film industry Australia has, but are there any summertime Christmas movies?

The new Superman really was good. I'm always kinda surprised when one of these movies manages to overcome my superhero fatigue. James Gunn has been killing it.

I don't tend to worry about the quality of things like this. It'll probably be bad because:
- Very few projects have figured out how to make satisfying adaptations from video game to movie.
- Nintendo is a meddlesome rights holder with bad storytelling sensibilities
- The Mario movie was bland pablum
Of course who knows? It might surprise us. I never would have expected the Barbie movie to be as good as it was (which isn't to say it was flawless, but it was at least consistently interesting.) Maybe some artists with vision will figure out how to do something great with it. The real stumbling block to that is probably Nintendo themselves.
Konami had some recent success with the Castlevania series, so it's at least conceivable that they have an idea of how to get the right people to adapt Metal Gear.
If either or both of these are bad, it doesn't really affect me. I will live in a world without a good Zelda/Metal Gear movie, which is the same world I've been living in all my life. The good games will still be good games.

We're all posting Korean and Japanese music, so I dunno why you'd apologize for posting music with Spanish lyrics. By the tenor of this thread recently, it seems like you'd only have to apologize if you posted music in English!

I gotta agree with the seniors though. Damn youth always making such a racket!

1 game every 2 years would certainly be a more manageable pace, and hopefully allow their developers to work at a healthier pace.
As a general rule, I'm not interested in a game that is built to be replaced by a future game, which all the CoD games are.

Just started reading a new book, "The Architectural Uncanny" by Anthony Viddler. Currently a bit worried I bit off more than I can chew with this one, but I am determined.

I'd like to get back into the FF Tactics games at some point.
I tend to bounce around games a bit. Lately it's:
- Absolum, a fairly new Hades-like Beat-em-up. Not usually my genre, but I got it so I could play with a friend. We haven't actually played together yet, but I'm enjoying myself anyway. Really working to understand the combat system so I can get the most out of the experience.
- Final Fantasy V, original SNES release with the classic 1998 fan translation. Part of my project to play through the original versions of all the mainline Final Fantasy games in order. I just got the Bard and Archer jobs, which I think is where I gave up on the game back when I was a teenager. Looking forward to seeing some new stuff.
- Sally Face, an unsettling adventure game. My family and I played through the whole thing together already, and now we're playing it a second time to make sure we get all the secrets.
- Dead Letter Department, a horror game where you type addresses for undeliverable mail.
- Breath of Death VII, a comedy RPG that I bought on steam like 12 years ago or so, and I figured it was about time I gave it a try. It's alright.

I mostly have pretty negative feelings about Canva/Webtoon. I was deeply invested in the webcomic scene of the 2000s, and I resent the way Webtoon gobbled it up. There was a lot of hassle and heartbreak back then of course, but there wasn't a single corporate entity lording over it, making arbitrary decisions and pushing "SFW" art and paywalls.
This is inevitably the way things go of course. Big money moves in and the West gets less Wild. There are probably more artists making a living off their work now than there used to be, and that's great, but it ain't my scene.
I did read Tales of the Unusual, and enjoyed it a lot! I also read a good amount of Clinic of Horrors and My Giant Nerd Boyfriend, as well as a few others. Aside from ToU, though, I don't think any webtoons have really clicked with me.
What is Camlost about?

I probably listen to more synth music than anything else. Mostly because it's easy, and helps quiet down parts of my brain that distract me.
Aside from that I've been listening to a good amount of vintage Japanese City Pop, some Disco (which really just means Donna Summer), and I've been dipping my toe back into some Bedroom Pop, though most of my old favorites make me sad now haha.

Nice!
I don't get to the cinema as often as I'd like to, even though I've got several great little indie movie houses near me. I think the last thing was Weapons back in July.

Oh hot diggity, another thread I can participate in now that I've finally got my first mobile device.
I play a lot of Zachtronics Solitaire, specifically Fortune's Foundation.
That's actually pretty much it. I guess I also played through the first few Phoenix Wright games on my phone, but they don't really count as 'mobile games' proper.
