I honestly probably have a little more in common with Ganon than I do with Link at this point. But my name is eternal.

I mean, once everybody else is dead I'm free to begin a trading empire that will pretty quickly outstrip the feeble economy of...whatever you call Wind Waker's world.
-
-
Unfortunately I'd promptly murder half of Windfall Island's inhabitants after being stuck in such a small area with them for more than a few hours. Then the island WOULD have a monster.
-
Been awhile since I changed my desktop as well.
-
I don't own enough skinnyjeans and black hair dye to live in Twilight Princess's Hyrule.
-
I just don't trust giant ducks, mang.
-
See, I gotta have space to walk away from doufuses who think acting like a grade-school bully makes sense as an adult.
Then again, murder would probably be really easy in Skyloft...

Without taking too much time to compose my thoughts here.
1. Is there a difference between Justice and Revenge?
Display Spoiler
They're both entirely artificial human constructs that people take way too seriously. Yes, they're different. One is an attempt to rationally respond to misdeeds, the other is an emotional response to a perceived misdeed. But the common cultural idea that Justice is some highminded good and revenge is the basest of evils is a little silly.
2. Is Revenge Okay?
Display Spoiler
For what definition of revenge? If we're going to use the definition I posited above (Revenge is an action against an individual, motivated by an emotional response to a perceived misdeed) then it ranges the gamut from pettiness to murder I suppose. I can't imagine revenge being "good," but it's certainly human.
3. Does punishment work?
Display Spoiler
If it does, it's incidental. The goal of punishment isn't to fix a problem. The goal of punishment is to associate an unwanted behavior with an unpleasant result. It's an entirely backwards-facing methodology which rarely gives any thought to the future.

I guess I'll be boring and predictable and say I'd live in LttP's light world. Literally just because of nostalgia, really. The look and feel and layout of the world make me happy, and if I had to live in one of them, that'd be the one I'd go for.

Episode 9
http://dumbstufftakenseriously.blogspot.com/2016/02/episod…d-monikers.html
I feel like this project has really come into its own in the last 3-4 episodes. I'm super stoked about how well it's coming together.

I tend to think the opposite, Silent. I think the violence of the revolution tends to be UNDERstated.
Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of violence. And MOST of it was unjustified. But the whole first phase of the revolution was almost completely peaceful, aside from the occasional threat of force that didn't lead to anything. (And of course, wars against other countries don't count).
In my experience, people tend to think of the Reign of Terror when they think of the French Revolution, when in fact the Reign of Terror only lasted a few months.
I do wish the Revolution had managed to quit while it was ahead. If they'd just stopped changing everything for long enough to let things settle down (maybe wrap up a few of their wars), they might have proceeded a little more wisely. If they'd thought and acted with a little more tolerance, and moderation, maybe they could have stopped the Revolution from eating its children.
BUT, you're right. It didn't change as much as it could have, but it did change a whole lot.
I actually quite like Napoleon, for the same reason I like Caesar. Yes, they took ostensibly free societies and turned them into dictatorships. But if they hadn't done it, those societies (Rome and The Directorate) would likely have collapsed completely within just a few decades. Instead, they managed to forge their charges into powerful and successful nations.
And they both probably let it go to their heads a little too much. Napoleon just happened to live long enough to dress himself in white robes and crown himself emperor. =P

I've never seen Animal Crossing, so the comedy here is hit and miss for me. But the animation is pretty damn impressive for a single animator working alone. Hot damn.

Facebook: your mom likes your status, because you know your mom is on facebook, so you can't post anything real there.
Twitter: Unless you're a comedian, you're going to fall into one of the three categories of useless tweeters: the vapid, the incendiary, and the guy who literally just links to his own youtube videos.
Instagram: Unless you're a photographer or some shit, nobody actually takes enough interesting pictures to maintain a presence. So you're probably posting selfies, pictures of your pets, pictures of your food, or you're a pedant wannabe photographer who takes pictures of the stopsign outside your hose with a black and white filter on.
tumblr: Nobody actually puts anything on tumblr. They just reblog things that were already on tumblr. Also, it's shockingly difficult to have a meaningful conversation on Tumblr, since you can't message people back and forth. All you can do is reblog things with a comment. Also, obligatory bitching about SJWs.
Whatever I'm missing because I'm too old to know about what the newfangled social networks are these days: sucks because it's full of children.
Google+: PEOPLE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT SHIT. Like, for really real. It's basically just a web forum like this one, updated for the age of social networks. With circles you can control who gets to see your content, and with collections you can separate your content into groups for people to either follow, or not.
Here's the big downside, and the reason everybody thinks google+ is a ghost town: you've gotta actually have something to talk about. If you're just a vapid 20-something who wants to rack up the Internet Points for posting pictures of "feeling sexy today," then you're not going to find a bunch of other vapid 20-somethings to talk to. BUT, if you're the kind of interesting person who actually has a passion in life, you can find people to have a conversation with about that passion.

I realize this is kind of an esoteric topic for a Zelda forum, but @Lexatom and I were chatting about this earlier, and I was curious if anybody else here is a fan of the French Revolution? Despite its ultimate failure to produce lasting results, I find it to be one of the most beautiful and inspiring events in history. Not to mention instructive. There are corners of tumblr that look an awful lot like The Mountain right now, amirite? Isn't there a saying about those who don't know history being doomed in some fashion or another?
The whole thing starts in the same place that the American revolution did: a bunch of rich fucks who don't want to pay their taxes. But UNlike the American revolution, it actually evolves beyond that. It becomes something that's really about benefiting the people. Of course it all ends terribly, with Robespierre cutting errybody's heads off, the Sancoulat exerting too much influence in favor of quick action and benefiting Parisians rather than all of France, and eventually Napoleon rolling back most of the cool stuff that got accomplished.
None the less, I find the whole thing inspiring, despite its tragedy.

I'm a big fan of high-weirdness. So I always enjoy recommendations.
Two of my favorites are Thundarr the Barbarian:
And Ulysses 31: (Which was Japanese, but it was also French, so it's only half anime)
I know I really ought to watch He-Man. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Wow, thanks, I'll look into IVOOX!
I'm really stoked to hear you're enjoying it. It seems like there is some kind of audience for what we're doing, so I'm curious to see how far we can take this project.
-
Proud of that one.

We love soundcloud, actually. I wish all of our episodes could be on soundcloud.
Unfortunately, Soundcloud has a limit of 3 hours worth of uploaded material at once. Not per month, not per year, total. So if we wanted to keep using soundcloud, we'd have to take down our old episodes every time we wanted to upload a new one.
We could potentially get unlimited uploads on Soundcloud, but that would cost a fairly large amount of money. So we're holding off until we find out if the project continues to flourish and starts to draw a real audience.
