I thought the men were going to win super easy. I was gonna be all "AND THIS WHY SEXISM, MEN!"
But now it's a real battle.

^ DOESN'T like Bananas?
< Sometimes worries that bananas won't exist in 50 years, because they're all genetically identical to one another, and could easily be entirely wiped out by disease.
V IS OBLIGATED TO CHANGE THEIR MOOD!
Its been years since I watched Home Alone. I think I'll do it this Christmas, just because you mentioned it.
Seems like that could mean two very different things. Either you're asking if I'm a vegetarian, in which case no I'm not. Or you're asking if I like vegetables, in which case, yes. I do.
Call of Doody or Butt-lefield
I value the opinion of young people, I don't think we should exclude them based on age. If we must be exclusionary, then I'd prefer to base it on behavior than age.

QuoteI wouldn't mind a "Serious Discussion" forum. Somewhere to talk about politics or philosophy or ethics.
Some people get bummed out by those topics, so keeping them separate from the general forum will allow those people to easily avoid topics that will be stressful for them. Plus, a separate forum allows the threads to have a certain gravitas, which helps prevent them from getting derailed.
I think about this a lot, and I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts. Particularly those of @Sardonic Pickle , who has produced an impressive library of game videos himself, and no doubt knows a lot more about the genre than I do.
For those who are not in the know, JonTron is a pretty swood guy who has been making game videos on the internet since 2010. His work has evolved dramatically in that time, going from a one man project filmed at his parent's house, to a big production with a set, and a crew.
Here's a sample of 'Season 2' JonTron:
If it isn't painfully obvious already, I'm a big fan. As stated, I think he makes the best game videos on the Internet. And while there are a lot of things that make him great, there are two factors which really set him apart from others doing similar things.
First is that, by and large, he doesn't use games everybody is familiar with already as his subjects. He really pushes to go for weird stuff that people have either forgotten about, or never even heard of. Particularly since the start of Season 2, I don't think I had heard of any of the games he ised before seeing his videos.
More importantly, the source material isn't really the focus of any of his videos. He doesn't review the game. He doesn't try to communicate any serious information about the game to you. It's not his job to tell us whether or not a game is good or not. JonTron's job is to ENTERTAIN. He uses games as a springboard for absurdist humor. It's a vehicle, but he never lets the focus drift away from the comedy.
There's an interesting parallel to be drawn with sitcoms. Situation Comedies. The primary job of a sitcom is to make you laugh. You don't really care about the characters or the story being told. You may grow tocare about those things, but nobody watches Friends because they think Ross and Rhachel have a fascinating relationship. They watch Friends because it makes them laugh. The story and the characters are vehicles for the comedy.
In a way, I wonder if JonTron is just the furthest step along an evolutionary chain that begins with Siskel and Ebert turning their movie reviews into an entertainment TV show. Comedy reviws have been around for ages. And gradually, they become less and less about the reviw, and more about the comedy.
Anyway,, I'm blathering. What do you think?
I keep hearing this phrase. 'Immersion.' An immersive game is one where the world around you falls away. Becomes a dull background that you don't really notice. You forgrt you're pressing buttons. You think 'I am running. I am jumping. I am shooting.' I've experienced this a lot.
But for me, it has always been the result of a game being engrossing. Shovel Knight and World Of Warcraft are immersive to me. But increasingly, I see the word 'immersion' used as asynonym for 'realistic.' It seems not to be about how good the game is, but rather, how internaly consistent the game is. I've seen, for example, people complaining about lighting breaking immersion becausea room is too well illumiated for the light sources present. As if the game needs to be a recreation of reality, rather than...well, a game.
Far be it from me to daclaresomething 'bad wrong fun.' But I confess, this trend seems to be producing some really dull game design ideologies.
What do you think?
Which RTS games do you play?
My standby is Age Of Empires 2. I still keep the HD version installed on Steam, and play it a few times a year. There's a really phenomenal fan expansion for it called "The Forgotten."
I play some Warcraft 3, Starcraft 1, and Rise of Nations as well. I own Planetary Annihilation, but haven't really dug into it yet.
For all of the above, I really kinda suck =P
Quote@LinkSkywalker has been brain washed to no point of return lol hahahahahahahahahaha JK JK
Here you insult my ability to reason and think for myself. Surrounding an insult with laughter doesn't turn it into a joke.
Quoteu r a pervert ( lol ) hahahahahahahahahah jk
Again.
QuoteI think it is very sad that people rejecting existence of God can't accept this word Morality
Here you claim I have no morals. That is an insult.
Quoteas for discussing God as a prerequisite , well you can not answer difficult math question without knowing number there is a step by step procedure in everything in universe if you reject that there is no light how can you possibly discuss thing that you see because of light
Here, you make the claim that I am incapable of discussing, thinking about, or understanding ANYTHING, simply because I do not share your religion.
Again, I understand that there is a language barrier between us. You may not be fully cognizant of the way your English wording is interpreted by a native speaker. I want to assume good faith, but it seems very clear that you view me with contempt. Which, of course, you are allowed to do.
But as a member of this forum, I am choosing not to engage with someone who treats me with contempt. I will not reply to any further attempts to engage me on this topic, unless you agree to conduct our discussion with respect.
As a moderator of this forum, Further off-topic posts will be split off into a new thread.
No it don't, you suck!
*runs away*
Anyway, I don't think it sucks, it's comfortable as hell.
It may be comfortable if the game doesn't rely on the d pad and L button. But really, what's the point of that third handle. WHAT'S THE POINT SARDONIC?!
I think if there is a community here for discussing SEGA, then we can accomodate them. But we shouldn't make a new subforum until we see evidence of user interest.
It's up to Kaynil, really. I just don't see the benefit of it. Seems distracting and gimmicky to me.
wish I got 34. I'm stuck with 33!
Good, good.
Here's the shirt for anyone not-Kaynil who is interested.
So your argument is "because god said so?"
I suppose you are right, then. There really is nothing to discuss. If you're incapable of presenting reasoning for your argument that does not rely on the presupposed existence of god, then you're incapable of having a discussion with anyone outside your own theological framework. You need people to agree with you about god before you can even begin to talk with them about morality.
I'm not going to argue with you as to whether or not there is a god. Particularly the way you sprinkle insults throughout your statements. You've repeatedly demonstrated a marked lack of respect for people who disagree with you, and I just don't have the energy to deal with that.
If you'd like to invite others to discuss whether or not there is a god, you are of course free to do so. But that's not what this thread is about, so please start a new thread if that's what you'd like to discuss.
