I'll make a point of it.

World of Warcraft pretty much erryday. I got my kid sister playing, and we're having a blast.
This weekend I've been playing Multiplayer Civ V with some old coworkers.
And I've occasionally been playing Tony Hawk.

FF7 was the first game to really make me realize what an impact instrumentation can have. So much of that soundtrack is the clarinet, and you know it's a clarinet, and it makes you want to hear more clarinet.
And yeah. Chrono Trigger is the best Final Fantasy game, hands down. Heck, even back in the day most Final Fantasy fan sites had a Chrono Trigger section.

All of Chrono Symphonic was amazing. Rarely has there been such a completely phenomenal fan arrangement.
On that note, I like it when people add words to songs that didn't originally have them:

It's hard for me to think of an FPS that I really really enjoyed.
I liked Quake 3 back in the day, and I used to play a lot of the original Halo on PC. Half Life and Half Life 2 are both great. But looking at my current library...I guess Shadow Warrior might count as an FPS? But I didn't really stick with it long.
I can play an FPS if it's what the rest of the group is doing. But as a general rule it's just not my genre.

Huh.
It honestly never occurred to me that someone wouldn't like Platformers.
Shovel Knight may not be for you...weird.

Sell me on Mirror's Edge. Because I wanted to like that game SO MUCH. I love a good female protagonist. I would really love to see a parkour vidja game become a thing. I loved the visual style, and the "usable surfaces are red" thing. In terms of impressing me, that game had every advantage.
But I just...couldn't get into it. I think I eventually ended up in a big circular room and completely couldn't figure out what to do with myself.

If you've ever felt even slightly curious, this is a really good way to give the game a chance. Today the server had 8.6k people online. Things always start to get unstable after 6k, but a few glitches here and there don't bother me so much. And I really enjoy having such a thriving community around me all the time.

Yeah, random encounters are a relic of tabletop RPGs. They work great in those games, they do their job. But they work because of an intelligent human game referee, and because of tactical infinity. In a CRPG? They're a miserable slog.

Wow, the zelda plot got really complicated.
-
I only just started it, so I really don't have a whole lot to say about it yet. But so far I don't like what I see.
The opening of the game is slow, tedious, repetitive, dialogue heavy, filled with annoying anime cliches. It's just an unpleasant way to open the game, and it makes me really disinterested in picking the game up again.
Also, Link turning into a wolf feels dumb to me. But I'll still need to see how that goes.

Did you play the other Donkey Kong Country games, or was DK2 just your favorite of the three?
Also, just how young were you when you played FF6?

OoT is better, just got more enjoyment out of the game than I did with Alttp. Probably because it was my first Zelda, so playing a top down Zelda after a 3D Zelda was an adjustment. Alttp is in my top five for sure, but it ain't solid gold for me.
I'm curious, do you have any specific disagreement with reference to the video?

This contest will be completed. It will.

Nice hat!
It's a thinking hat. Helps me cook up all my good ideas.

I have a lot of questions for everyone, but right now I'm particularly interested in one thing you said, @kilovh.
You say that G-d is on both sides of every argument. I assume that this is a legitimate, specific belief; not merely a metaphor for omnipresence. So, what role does god play on the 'nay' side of whether he exists or not? (Trying as hard as you can to avoid the argument that G-d is a paradox.)

HOLY SHIT! What happened to the 30 paragraph response I wrote to this?
Geeze. I'mma have to rewrite that later.

Starfox 64 holds up really well. You can get it on the Wii store, although playing it with a gamecube controller never feels quite right to me.
-
Starfox 64 is the only game that I'm really really good at.
