Hard mode could defs be fun!

If anything, I'm at a place where I've got more video games to play than I know what to do with, so I'm not really itching to squeeze more fun out of the ones I've got. But maybe in a year or so, it might be fun to start the whole game over in hard mode. :D

I just recently finished playing the fourth Shovel Knight campaign, "King of Cards," where you play as King Knight. It seems to be the most unique of the later campaigns, with much shorter levels that are entirely new aside from some of their art assets. Plus there's this whole game within a game with the Joustus cards.

The moveset is a little awkward to get used to, but once I did I had loads of fun with it. The story also has some genuine pathos to it. King Knight is a character who could have had a lot of love in his life, but was too narrow minded in his ambition, and too selfish to accept the love he had around him. There's a scene near the end which intentionally mirrors one in the main Shovel Knight campaign, and it legitimately brought a tear to my eye.

Enjoyed the hecc outta this, would be curious to know if any others have played.

My sister got it for me as a gift a couple months ago. It's quite good! I had never played Link's Awakening before, so it was all new to me. Enjoyed it thoroughly, though I confess that once I completed the main quest I pretty much lost all interest. I'd like to collect the rest of the shells and heart containers, but I am pretty satisfied with how my initial run-through went.

Maybe in a few years I'll get the itch to revisit it, and do a more thorough play through. One without so many deaths. :)

It would be fun to see some activity here. Unfortunately I don't think I actually know anyone who is enthused about Zelda games these days.

I mean, kilovh is still out there, I suppose, but he is a busy boi.

Plus, whenever he is around, many of my powers are negated because he commands the inverse powers, and it's a whole thing. :P

I don't expect the old show will solve any of the problems I have. Most fans of the old show describe it as being nostalgic for them, or being sillier than the remake.

But who knows? Maybe! Hopefully I'll find a convenient copy of it somewhere.

Hahaha, yeah, it is of a type.

You make a good point. The impact of those episodes would be lessened if they composed more of the show. None the less I find the protagonist's "mundane" school friends to be wildly more interesting than anything the Soma family is doing.

I cannot speak to whether the original or the remake is a better choice, having only watched the remake. I'd kinda like to go back and watch the original when I get the chance.

Kaynil More specifically, folks will often make a piece of media into their identity. They don't just like Anime X. Liking Anime X defines who they are to themselves, and thus any criticism of Anime X is interpreted as criticism of the individual.

It's a somewhat understandable bit of foolishness for children, but one should be expected to grow out of that sort of behavior.

    ^Hello to you as well.
< Was really hoping I'd be able to make some funny comment about the V thing being from so far in the past, but I don't quite know what to do with 'Hi.'
v Will be replying less than 1 year after this post.

It is tough to sort out the difference between what I learned in school, and what I've learned outside it. In fact I seem to recall that I struggled with that so much 2 years ago that I just figured I'd wait until someone else replied.

I guess I'm quite fond of symbolic logic, which is a somewhat arcane practice, and not very useful in practice, but I like that it exists and enjoy playing with the rudiments of it that I still recall.

How about an easy one: What is the most recent piece of media you consumed?

I've been watching Fruits Basket for the first time. 2019, not the original.

I'm only about a third of the way into Season 2, but IMHO they should've cut 80% of the episodes about upper class animal boys failing to cope with their own bullshit insecurities.

They should have more episodes about girls loving and supporting one another through poverty and violence. Those are the ones that keep reducing me to tears, and which push me to endure the animal boy episodes while I wait for more stories of healthy friendships.
