i went out yesterday and bought a ton of gaming mags, some from the US, some from europe. i'm finding that the european ones have more information in them than the US ones do and that the advertising is completely different. i'll be doing a review on all of these magazines soon; but i would like to know if you read any of the magazines and what you think of them?

heres the ones that i bought: *if you an think of any other titles not listed here please post them and i'll pick them up and do a review and compare*

    gameinformer
    gamepro
    pocket games
    nintendo power *of course!*
    play
    psm
    hardcore gamer
    edge

which ones *if any* do you normally read?

i got to see pantera a couple of times, once with ozzy obsorn and once at a really small place in phoenix with testament and dark angel. they were great! always a good show when guys head bang for 3 hours straight LOL *i wonder if they get whiplash?*

So, are you gonna remember for the next forty years, give or take a decade, how you refused a thousand dollars for one second's worth of work, or how you made a thousand dollars for one second's worth of work?

four rooms: the man from hollywood

OOPS! keith richards almost went down on this one!

UNDER HIS SKULL: Keith Richards recovering after undergoing surgery Monday to relieve a blood clot on his brain, according to a statement from the Rolling Stones' spokesperson, who called the operation a "complete success." The band's European tour, which had been scheduled to kick off May 27, pushed back to June to give Richards time to recover. Sounds like that reported fall from a palm tree packed a bigger bang than first thought.

    burningman 2005

every year the burningman concert brings in a number of amazing artists. this is just some of their work last year, and they burn it all after the show. ive always wanted to go to burningman, though i dont know if i ever will. still, its pretty neat to think that a bunch of people can go to the desert for a few days of fun, art and fire. if you want to check it out yourself, just click the top link.

NEW YORK (AP) -- David Blaine says he's in "pretty bad shape" as he nears the end of his latest feat -- a week in an aquarium -- but vowed to go through with his finale of holding his breath underwater for nearly 9 minutes.

The 33-year-old magician, wearing a diving helmet that allows two-way communication, has been submerged in the 8-foot snow globe-like acrylic sphere since last Monday.

"Everything is still on as planned, and I'm going to give it my best shot," Blaine said Sunday from his perch on the plaza of Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts as spectators gawked and waved at him.

Blaine's finale was to be aired live in a two-hour ABC special, "David Blaine: Drowned Alive," starting at 8 p.m. EDT Monday.

He told AP Television News he "will do his best" to complete the feat despite peeling skin, sharp pains in his joints and a severe earache.

The stunt artist planned to put on 150 pounds of chains and handcuffs, remove his oxygen tube and then escape while holding his breath longer than the record of 8 minutes, 58 seconds.

"If I don't get out of the chains and I black out in 9 minutes, which is about the length of time it would take these guys here (who) have been preparing a stretcher to pull my body out and do what they have to do, so I have to have faith that they know what they are doing," Blaine said.

He said he was suffering "sharp, shooting pains in every part of my body." Doctors have been monitoring his condition.

Blaine started training in December, with some help from Navy SEALS. He lost 50 pounds so his body would require less oxygen.

He has been fed and, uh, relieving himself by tubes.

Blaine's previous feats included balancing on a 22-inch circular platform atop a 100-foot pole for 35 hours; being buried alive in a see-through coffin for a week; and surviving inside a massive block of ice for 61 hours, all of which were performed in New York. In 2003, he fasted for 44 days in a suspended acrylic box alongside the Thames River in London.

they couldnt have made a smarter move giving this franchise back to CORE where it belongs. ok, so the game is seriously short and has a few to many cutscenes. that irked me pretty well *if i want to watch a movie, i'll put in a dvd*, BUT to be fair, this game really is pretty fun to play.

first thing is its gorgeous to look at. while it might not have the greatest camera angles on earth *they only get in the way occasionally* its still fairly easy on the eyes.
second: the control is superb! the environments are fun to play around in as they added silly, mean nothing places to see and other things to do. collecting rewards, the real reason to play tomb, as always. these are extremely difficult to find at times, especially the gold ones. you have to just use your imagination when figuring out where they are and then pretty much make a leap of faith in order to find out if youre right, there in revealing the fun in this game.
like exploring? like to observe? this is the game for you. do yourself a favor and rent it before you buy it. only true tomb raider fans will enjoy this and it costs to much for the short period of time that it plays for. rental or wait till it comes down in price.

are you ready for the new revolution? nintendo sure is! and its making its debut in november of this year *Wii*. combined with ubisofts red steel launch title this motion enabled control system is sure to knock the gaming industry firmly into the future.
while nintendo has been known to break a few rules on what can and cannot be done in gaming systems im pretty excited to see what this one can do. already it boasts backward compatability with gamecube discs and a decent price *cheaper than the 360!* and a system for downloads of all console type games. and a huge YAY to the fact that this means more adult oriented gaming. FINALLY!

nintendo has brought us some pretty great games, heres to looking forward to more, and in a new exciting way.

this is a rather sciency kind of magazine but dont let that fool you, this one has a heart. some of this months topics include the dead guy interview, the greatest immigration fraud scheme in history and mad scientist, all of which are intellectually fun to read and stimulating to think about.
every month mental floss uncovers some of the worlds greatest pranks, stunts, cons and fraud schemes and does it in such a way that you actually enjoy reading about them and find yourself just a tiny bit less ignorant for having learned such useless facts and trivia.
go to the book store and find this magazine. you wont be disappointed, i promise.
