Wait, 8 bit GBA? Isn't the GBA a 16 bit system?

Technically the GBA was a 32-bit system. It has a 32-bit RISC processor. If you're interested in reading about the inner workings of the GBA, I suggest reading this. It really was quite the capable system for its time and it had a thriving homebrew scene back in the day. You can even emulate NES and Gameboy (Color) games on a GBA. Hell, there's even highly limited SNES emulation! Pretty impressive stuff, really.

Btw, I'm pretty sure Smokey was referring to "8BitEvolution" when he said 8-bit.

Anyways, I have an AGS-101 (backlit GBA SP) that I use to play most of my Gameboy and GBA games on. It would be pretty nice to have it in the form factor of the original GBA, but I'm too lazy to take it apart myself, nor do I have the money to buy one pre-made. :P I also like to play my GBA games on a GBA Micro, but I get handcramps from using it for a long time. Actually, let me list all my GBA systems:

Original GBA (replaced the shell with a Midnight Blue one, because the original shell melted... Yeah... Don't ask, lol)
GBA SP Classic NES (limited edition)
GBA SP Kyogre Blue (limited edition)
GBA SP 'Chinese Dragon' (it used to be a normal black GBA SP, but I replaced the shell myself because the old shell wat totally beat up)
GBA SP (AGS-101) Onyx Black (my personal favorite)
    GBA Micro Silver
    GBA Micro Blue

I love the GBA! :D Maybe I'll edit this post later with a picture of my GBA's, lol.

It's funny how similar my story is to Kaynil's, because I, too, met my significant other on a Zelda forum (of all places).

I had known her for a couple of years before we started talking frequently. On the Zelda forum, we just happened to strike up a conversation. It really wasn't about anything special either, just that we recognized each other and about how we were both doing. After that initial message we just kept talking and talking. We really had a lot of chemistry between us as it turned out.

It went on like that for a while, but I had to see what she was like in real life. I had romantic feelings for people online before that. They had one thing in common that made them impossible: the distance.

So like every other 20-year old in my shoes, I booked a flight to the other side of the Atlantic ocean to see if we were compatible in real life. ;-P Not being compatible in real life really was one of my biggest fears and one of the reasons why I said no to her the first time she asked me to be in a relationship with her. Fortunately, the chemistry was also there in real life, and I quickly booked another trip to the United States to visit her as soon as I got home. It really was a wonderful experience to be with her, even though we lived really far apart. After that summer in 2010 I was pretty much broke, but I felt it was worth it because we got to spend so much precious time together.

Of course we've also had our downs. There was a period where we almost broke up (2011) because we didn't enjoy talking anymore. I'm still so glad I was able to find employment and figure out what I wanted to study in college, because it helped me out of my depression. It still amazes me that she didn't leave me that year.

Unfortunately we still aren't together, but a couple of weeks ago she visited me again. I asked her if she wanted to marry me... And she said yes! I'll (finally) be done with college in a couple of months, so we can finally start looking forward to living together. It makes me super excited to think about the future, and I'm really looking forward to see what it holds for us together. ^^

I liked to use that thing outside of the designated usable areas! Why? Well, why not lol. Oh yeah, and I also happened to help TS port the Super Spinner AR cheat code to the PAL versions of the game back in the day. Seing this quote...

"Huge thanks to Papayo of ARCentral.net for working with me to get this ported to the PAL(E) region!"

... still makes me all warm and happy inside, lol! If anybody's interested in seeing the cheat in action:

That reminds me, lol... I used to have an N64 cartridge with a piece bubble gum in it. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working sometimes, until I looked at the contacts and saw a hard piece of blue... gum! Geez, that really grossed me out. (Bought the game used)

I remember being a wee lil' lad and asking my parents for a Nintendo 64 whenever it came out. My parents did eventually get me one, but we had to sell the SNES to get it. Made me really happy at the time, but it makes me super sad now! We used to have a crap ton of awesome games for the SNES! All Donkey Kong Country games, Starwing, Super Mario Kart, etc. Still makes me sad to this day. :'(

But my love for the Nintendo 64 is strong. It's basically the console I grew up with. I remember playing Super Mario 64 for the first time and everybody gathered around me to look at the game. "Wow, Mario even blinks with his eyes!" Stuff we take for granted now, was something really special back then. It's kind of funny. :D Of course I can't forget about the 3D Zelda games and how they fueled my fantasy, lol. I used to pretend to be Link all the time with my friends. Great times, great times!

Puzzle games, like Tetris; Pokémon Puzzle League and several others. I just don't seem to have the patience for puzzles, lol.

... Oh! And the Smash series! I used to be completely obsessed about Super Smash Bros. Melee whenever it came out. Now I kinda dislike the Smash series in general and I never play it anymore (even though I own the latest one for Wii U). Not even Melee. I kind of got tired of the concept, for some weird reason.

Around a year ago I decided to completely delete my Facebook profile. I was spending way too much time on there reading, checking, liking and just lurking. It occurred to me that I was kind of addicted to it in a weird way. Like, I would automatically grab my phone to read what new updates other people had posted every couple of hours. Whenever I realized just how much time I spent on there, and Facebook changed its privacy policy again, I decided to delete the profile altogether. Now people think I'm weird for not having a Facebook profile, lol.

Other than that I go on Youtube, WhatsApp... and that's about it.

For me personally? The original GBA.

Mainly because the plastic casing melted while it was in the back of our car. I had forgotten to take the GBA out of the car, so it was just sitting there in the burning Italian sun for several hours. Needless to say the thing didn't completely survive the whole ordeal. Amazingly enough it still turned on, but the cartridge slot was warped and the screen had these huge black spots on it (which did disappear over time). I still have that GBA in a drawer somewhere, lol.

The screen was also hard to see if you weren't close to some sort of light source. I remember having one of those worm lights, but it didn't really help much. :^^U:

    Hmmm, well, let's see:

2004 - Mario Heaven - The only real reason I signed up for this forum was because I was into Mario Kart at the time. I didn't post much, and never really became a part of the community.

2006-2008: QJ.net - Mostly because I was into PSP hacking. I made several hundred posts there. None of which I can remember, lol.

2006-2009(?): Twilight Princess .net/Zelda Gamers - I really loved this Zelda Community. It's where I met a lot of my online friends. The focus of the forum wasn't really about Zelda, but the people there all had a good time. This is still the only forum to date where I made more than 800 posts, lol. It's too bad that Dave suddenly let the forums die without warning.

2006-????: Zelda Dimension - This forum used to feel like a big family. This is where I met people like Kaynil, Shrukan and some other people that I still talk to today. The owners of the site/forum were also really, really nice. They were really involved with the community. It's so sad that the forums eventually closed down.

2007-2014: Zelda Temple/Forsaken Fortress/Zelda Sanctuary - This is where I met my girlfriend! Kaynil also used to hang out here sometimes. These forums were kinda most famous for their drama, unfortunately.

2008-2009: Zelda Dungeon - Believe it or not, but I was actually a Hylian Knight once at Zelda Dungeon. After I was promoted, I became inactive and they demoted me again. Oh well.

    2015 - Zelda Cavern - Hi!

This is the only Zelda game I own that I haven't finished yet. Sad part is that I've had it since release! There's just something about the motion controls that turns me off from playing it. Maybe I'm just too old school, but I highly prefer the press of a button to swing my sword. Thank you very much.

(That, or I'm just lazy actually)

    I didn't get too far in the game, but I did play it for several hours. The one thing I did really like about the game is the art direction. The game simply looks beautiful, even on a standard Wii. It's quite impressive considering the Wii is just a Gamecube on steroids. One of these days I'll have to force myself to finish the game. That's probably going to take a while, though, considering I have a huuuuge backlog of games that I need to finish. ;_;

    Ah, first world problems...
