This morning Nintendo released a video dedicated to Animal Crossing New Horizons version 3.0 update, coming out on January 15, 2026.
There's going to be a free update that is going to release on the same day that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.
The update is full of new items and some new features that will bring some fresh air to the game, specially if you are into any of the things they are collaborating with such as Lego, Splatoon and, of course!, The Legend of Zelda.
I tried to make the video start at the point they introduce the Zelda updates, but might not work with all the device.
By the sounds of it, the way to get the items is by scanning Zelda related amiibos. The items seem to potentially include disguise sets as the video shows BotW Link's wig and clothes as well as Zelda's Wig and dress from Tears of the Kingdom. There is a wallpaper and floor to mimic the lost woods, there's the rupees, the Majora's Mask making a come back (not sure if we can wear it or just wall decor). I am definitelly try my best for the "backpack" that is the Sword and Shield. I am hoping there's more than what we were able to see, as there seems to be at least two more disguises.
There's also two new potential villagers Tulin and Mineru.
I don't know if this marks the return of the New Leaf version of Zelda villagers, but it is super nice to have an excuse in the form of new items and features such as the hotel and megaphone (Gosh, how I missed the megaphone)
