Your favorite pokemon handheld?

Which was your very favorite pokemon handheld? What made it better than the others?

Pokemon Crystal.

Not saying it is the best out there, just the one I liked the most of the ones I played. This is mostly because I played ita at the right age to be impressed by it. I am sure newer generations are better games mechanics and stuff but I haven't tried them. I like the 250 pokemon, sounds like a reasonable number. later games intimidate me just by the pokemon in total to collect.

I hope I can try Soul Silver so I can have the newer mechanics with the game I liked.

I wonder if most of today's kids actually know all of them... There are just too many of them, and their English names are starting to become similar to the name of pokemon from older generations...

The more, the merrier I say. It adds a lot of variety to people's teams, so everyone won't use the same Pokemon over and over again. I'm glad that there are 721 Pokemon.

That is quite optimistic. I think they just make bigger the list of rejects for being weaklings. At least competively speaking I would imagine you tend to see similar pokemon being chosen.

I think I'll draw the pokemon line at 1000.

thank smogon for tiers though.

for competitive play best one is hands down ORAS
for fun GSC or HGSS, Johto is just fun.
