The original. Like, the very original. With red Ganon blood and proper fire temple music.

It has good glitches, too. That's important to me.

It still bums me that they changed the blood and the chants.
I like how the people still called it out with the "Rated E for Everyone" Memes with images like these.

I am glad I played it though,Shadow Temple and other nightmares included with it.
Part of me wants to play the remake just to see if this looks as terrifying as back then or if they toned it down (I really hope they didn't).

I found this so amusing I had to share it. There's this twitch user, MonotoneTim who used a software to take the inputs of the notes he played in a real Ocarina and turned them into button inputs for the game. A real Ocarina, not a synthetic one. He even has an unlisted video to prove it and explain a bit how did that work.

It is interesting how things we take for granted become complicated with the Ocarina, for example to input two commands at the same time, like when you're pushing a block which is holding A and moving forward at the same time.

If that video is just scaringly long, he left a 3 minute fragment when he's batting against Dodongo.

I used to like Lucha Libre but I have been disconnected for so long now.

I always liked the máscara contra cabellera (Pride matches were the loser will lose their hair or will reveal their real identity to the world)

I also like the division of Rudos (Everything goes, they are unfair and cheapskates if it means getting the upperhand. Enjoy getting negative reactions from the public) and Técnicos (Those don't tend to use cheap tactics and instead follow a fair fight code, they aim to make people cheer for them). While most of them fall into the classic villain and Heroes, in México tended to be more dynamic the switch.

Always liked Octagon, La Parka and Rey Misterio Jr.
Both Parkas, actually. The original one became L.A. Park because AAA got someone else to keep the character alive when he left for a while. They had (have?) a big rivalry because of this, but I have come to like both because they are good with the mockery.

Another thing I like the is tag teams and how they can be dynamic enough to have the four guys at the same time in the ring (under certain conditions) how they can enter and exit without having to to do the whole ritual.

    Here's a match from the 1995, when I was 10 years old.
It is between two families Juventus is father and son and Rey Misterio original (the unmasked one) was the uncle. Rey Misterio Jr is the successor that made himself a name around the world.

    Display Spoiler

    LOL from 24:30 :X'D:

First both teams choose to pin the opponent at the same time. Instead of finishing with a tie the referee asks the fight to be left 1 on 1, so the the Juniors rolled out of the stage.

During the last part there was a double pin so the Referee counted using both hands and the match ended in a tie.

    Hahah.

It took me a while to realize that the person playing Zelda was not a girl...

Commenting this in every place he posted this video is a sure way to increase the number of views.

I for one hadn't noticed that both roles were (I assume) @hautbois123, hahahah. I had to watch it again and pause it at when Zelda looks at the camera.

    Awesome.

I think I am liking this video more and more. It definitely took a lot of love for the franchise to prepare.

Might also be known as really bad movies. I thought it'd be good to have a thread to talk about those disappointing movies. Whether the fault lies with the movie or ourselves.

Today I rented Hotel transylvania 2, because I watched the first one and I found it better than what I was expecting.

I thought the personalities and the humour worked alright for the original movie. There were a few bits a bit cringey for the old fart I've become but other than that the movie was enjoyable enough to get interest in the second movie. I had no one to watch it with nor funds so I skipped it. The netz were quiet about it so I just assumed it was either average or had a hard time to stand out against other movies around the time.

I honestly don't know if it was me not being in the same mood or if really the first movie was as bad. It felt like it was trying to throw any joke it could at you. Once I realised the butt imagery was filling the screen I couldn't unsee it. While some things make sense as reference to the first movie there were a lot of random = funny kind of jokes I just couldn't pick up. A few landed and were pretty good but most of them fell flat to me.

Wayne werewolf made me laugh the most.

Checking around it is not badly received and apparently considered better than the original, so I don't know. It could be just me.

Alright guys, I just realised that I haven't shared here, in my own frigging Zelda Community, the most embarrassing to admit theory I've had for a long time. It is not embarrassing because I think it doesn't hold any water, it is just that as soon as I mention it is my way to explain the inverted Triangle in OoT's Hylian Shield, people just assume I will go off the rails to fan-fic land to make sense of it. I will not. Just stick with me.

But first get a coffee and some biscuits, this might be a long ride. I want to be as thorough as I can. I will try to spice things up with some images and humour but the coffee will surely help. :lengua:
Alternatively just check my Hyrule/Zelda Amino version.

    Origin of the Tetraforce theories

Just skip this chapter (go to my next post) if you lived through the sprout or are familiar with the whole ordeal.

    This is OoT's Hylian Shield:

OoT came out on November of 1998, back then the Internet was something that was still being 'adopted' in some homes, there wasn't a real unifying network around and contacting Japanese people fluent in English to translate the gossips was not easy to do. The internet was a weird place segregated from the 'real world'. Websites and communities were expensive to maintain so forums were either really crappy looking (and thus you knew they were from novices) or vBulletin. vBulletin was king on established communities. It was on those forums where people could look way too deep into things and the Zelda Franchise was still young, only five games out (try to count all of zelda games with one hand now).

We were more gullible, because it would take longer to discard theories. Some people made very compelling arguments (that made sense at the time) and others claimed crazy things that the only way to disprove were basically to try them out. Rumours like that you could obtain the Triforce, or taht there was a way to access the hill on the left side of Hyrule Castle, things like that. There were also an immense amount of theories and the websites loved getting fan-mail about them.

    Tetraforce.

Sounds dumb.It is TRIforce for a reason, right? Well, yeah. Although some people think the name has a slightly different meaning. The biggest thing people used to defend this was the original NES game.

The Legend of Zelda introduced the Triforce as two pieces: Power and Wisdom. Ganon had the Power and Zelda had Wisdom, which she separated in 8 fragments and hid them in different dungeons. Link fights in each dungeon to retrieve the fragments one by one. This means that Triforce could be a short way to define those "Tri-sided Force Gems", at the very least until the second game, Adventure of Link introduced Courage.

If Nintendo introduced a new piece once before, why was it so unthinkable they could add a new one, even if it wasn't outright spelled in the game. That fourth piece would complete the Triforce in its glorious bigger Triangle shape.

From here theories just became more bizarre as new games were introduced. However the usual rationalization was the following "There is a deity for each piece, therefore there must be a 4th Goddess. We must find her!"

Many remembered the lady on the Gerudo temple, thinking she might be some forsaken Goddess for the Hylians and the key for the riddle.

Majora's Mask arrived and with it the concept of a Goddess of Time and the idea that "Time" most likely is this elusive fourth piece. However the Oracle games gave detractors some ammunition when the Oracle Nayru was given the ability to control time, strongly hinting that the Goddess of Time was in fact another name to call the Goddess that left the Wisdom piece. Another thing to mention is that Phantom Hourglass seems to attribute Farore as the Goddess of Time and Courage. So feel free to place your bets on which of them is the Goddess of time, or make a new thread right here.

By the Time the Wind waker was about to be released, people were growing tired of the theories and many stopped taking them seriously, but some thought "Tetra" must be some sort of hint. Why else would you name Zelda's Alter ego tetra?

I mean, other than "tetra" being a type of fish? For a lady that spent her days commanding a Pirateship on the sea, I think it kind of makes sense. Even if they called said fish differently in japan (I don't know. No speak Japanese) it still could be the same reasoning. It is not unheard of Nintendo taking inspiration outside of japan. Zelda's name in itself is an example of this.

In general, the Tetraforce theory is pretty much beaten down over and over and mostly just called upon to mock it and discredit it. It has become a circle of the same arguments and at this point has become a tiresome thing for many.

Nintendo, aware of the whole thing, has taken out the extra piece from the designs of the newer zelda games featuring a Hylian Shield taht came up afterwards to avoid confusion. I have no links to provide but people also seem to parrot often that Nintendo has denied in several occasions the existence of a Tetraforce.

Maybe is time to just forget the damn mystery of inverted Triangle and let it die already.

Sure. Just not before I share with you a personal "fannon" I've had since Ocarina of Time.

The possible meaning of the inverted triangle

Perhaps it makes little sense to swim against the tide about something like this. The inverted triangle appeared in one game and for all we know it could have been a last minute addition.

It wasn't. During the years there has been beta screenshots taht let us seen the progress as the game was being developed. Ocarina of Time was a huge project in its time and it took years to be completed. However even from early designs it seemed like that inverted Triangle must have been a requirement.

Even then it seemed the inverted triangle could fit inside the Triforce. I don't think this is coincidence.
On the other hand, I admit I have no explanation for the silver ornaments at the top and I am not going to obsess over them for this theory. I just want to focus on the Golden Triangle "puzzle".

The answer for this puzzle lies in the last words Sheik entrust to Link before revealing that spoiler that by now should not be a spoiler.

    Quote from Sheik

"The Triforce... the sacred triangles... it is a paradise that weighs the three forces: Power, Wisdom, and Courage. If the heart of the one who holds the sacred triangles has all three forces in balance, that one will gain the True Force to govern all.

But, if that one's heart is not in balance, the Triforce will separate into three parts: Power, Wisdom, and Courage. Only one part will remain for the one who touched the Triforce... the part representing the force that one most believes in. If that one seeks the True Force, that one must acquire the two lost parts. Those two parts will be held within others chosen by destiny, who will bear the Triforce mark on the backs of their hands."

This didn't come out of the blue, the importance of a kind heart is something openly expressed in different Zelda games. This is because the only requirement to possess the complete Triforce is to have the forces they represent balanced in your heart. It doesn't matter if you have evil or good intentions.

For me the design on the shield was meant to be a visual representation of this idea.

Each side of the triangle means to show the balance of the forces in the heart of the bearer. A balanced heart would be the equilateral triangle. A heart that relies more in only one of the forces would have an asymmetrical shape; it'd be an scalene triangle. If you tried to force that misshapen triangle inside the Triforce's hole you would just end up "breaking" it.

Ganondorf's "unbalanced" heart broke the Triforce, so he remained only with Power. If he wanted to gain Courage and Wisdom, he would have to manually locate and extract them from the other bearers.

That elusive 'force' is nothing else than the balanced heart. As Sheik puts it, this makes the "True Force".

As you see, no Goddesses or anything to suggest a tetraforce was used to explain this triangle. I gave you in-game material and, at least to my knowledge, it holds well even against other games that came after it.

If Nintendo denies a Tetraforce is because they never intended it as such. I really believe that although that inverted triangle was important to Nintendo to keep using it almost all the way till the finalised product they never intended to mean there was a fourth force (or deity) to seek.

Even in beta, they always showed the Triforce as the Triangle we know.

Thank you for reading all the way (or skimming, is not like I can tell) and let me know what did you think. Am I nutz or does this explanation makes sense to you?

Hey man. Nice video. I hadn't seen anyone playing the Oboe and that is a pretty nice medley. It must have taken its time to record and collect all the imagery and cosplay for the pieces.

Are you the one playing the oboe?

Cringe worthy? He makes it look so easy.

I meant his Zelda related comments. I dont really mind it but some people might be bothered by the inaccuracies in his speech. I edited my post to make clear what I meant.

To b e honest I enjoy the way he talks it feels like a relaxed little chat. [emoji1]

His drawing skills are excellent, which us why I shared it. It looks almost official.

Markcrilley is a guy I like to follow on YT that I enjoy the way he explains how he does things.
He is clueless about Link, and although he chose TP appearance he doesnt really know much of about the Zelda franchise. This might make some of what he says a bit cringey for some people, but his skill is worthy and I think it really can be of help to get anyone started with how to draw Link.

This video he does most of the stuff in real time while making some conversation and explaining his choices.
Below is just a time-lapse of his drawing, so if you don't care for his explanation this is a quick way to see his style for drawing.

Anyone interested in seeing it? A friend *coughes@sardonicpicklecoughes* just passed me a link to the second trailer and while the first trailer did get my attention, the teaser at the end of the second trailer had raised my curiosity by a lot. I think it is something I wanted to see for a while. Also it made me realise we had no thread to talk about it here. Problem solved.

Anyway, it is my udnerstanding many people are getting saturated with Superhero movies. I am not one of them. There have always been mindless entertainment type of movies and different genres and I don't mind lowering my guard for these kind of films. I liked superheroes in comics and I enjoy the explosions, ridiculous costumes that somehow you try to take seriously and the action. It is a fun ride.

This movie seems to it is going to be about Iron Man and Captain America differences to grow to the point where they take opposing stances. I love versus and this year we will have two movies on that. I want to see what's up with the terrorists and how they fit with this.

I have a bit of a mixed bag with the Spiderman reveal. It is great in itself taht he finally joins in. I think it is something I have wanted to see since the second movie of the avengers was announced. It is interesting that he ended up in a more Captain America "focussed" one, but still with the Avenger crew being around.

In deadpool, the cgi effects to make his face more expressive works really nice, because the white is still a small portion. Spiderman instead has this white retract. This is very close to the style in the comics and in that sense I like the idea, but at the same time it feels unnatural and I am not sure how well it will flow with him. I guess I could take a jab at his small logo on his clothes too but that is just ridiculous nitpicking.

The real worry I have with the teaser of Spiderman is that this scene is actually a teaser at the end of this movie that they inserted in the trailer. In Spiderman two they teased Rhino and that scene that ended in cliffhanger was the last scene from the whole movie too. I am afraid that since the focus in on Captain America, Spiderman participation is just a funny surprise near the end.

What do you guys think of the movie trailers?

Are any of you planning to watch it?

    Happy Birthday!

I have heard a lot of this game and to be honest I mostly know it because of the Link cameo sleeping in a hotel room than anything else. I knew it was considered a good game but I ignored just how much of a high reputation it actually receives.
I think it is like with some old tunes, we all have heard them at some point and we don't realise how much the present might have been molded by it. It definitely was an impressive title during its time and going by your links, the title taht basically shaped the characters personalities.

This serves mostly as an excuse to dream, but now that Cloud is in Smash, it begs to consider the notion as that things have been patching up between Square-Enix and Nintendo and if there is to be a proper sequel for this title, it would be great if it was again a shared effort like the original game.

Do you have any techniques for remembering pokemon type advantages? Most of them are pretty simple to remember, but some of them can be a little confusing...

I like to try to come up with explanations, but as the games have introduced new types and adapted the rules I have kind of given up to keep on top of it.Some of them don't make much sense to me. The "have you ever tried to punch X?" used to be my explanation of Ghost versus normal kind of battle.

Yeah, they didn't show that in the movie theater I watched it in. They just faded to white during the credits and we all left.

That is annoying they do that kind of thing. There was a theater I used to go that would pull the same thing. It was really annoying when I knew for sure it had something because my friends had said to me I shouldn't leave and miss it.

    • Ganondorf makes the enemy inflict double the damage.
    • Hero mode for TP HD is the game mirrored and enemies inflicting double damage, as fas as I understand.

Therefore using Ganondorf amiibo n hero mode would make each enemy 4x stronger compared to the base game. That is quite a challenge for anything that isn't a drooling brain type of enemy.

Are any of you interested in taking it?

Are there parts of the game that you'd dread doing this way?

Do you think that is a good level of difficulty?
