This is not a national issue, it is a world issue. The UK has literal royalty living in vast palaces, while 21,000 people die of starvation each day in this world.

And even if everyone if the worldwide standard of living could be raised to the point that the poorest person in the world still got enough to eat and live a reasonably comfortable life, it still would not justify the capitalist system. The ruling class have no right to the resources they stole from the commons.

Unfortunately, since Nintendo is dumb, they don't allow you to play the wii version with the GC controller. Despite the fact that they made a GC version of the game, and the wii has GC ports on it.

That being said, the game is reasonably entertaining to play with one person holding the wiimote, and another person holding the nunchuck.

So, I've been giving Twilight Princess another try lately, and the other day I found the first moment of gameplay which isn't garbage.

There's a bit in the Forest Temple, after you get the boomerang, where you have to climb up on a ledge, but there's a rock blocking the path. I tried a few times to get the bomb, then throw it up on the ledge beside the boulder, but that wasn't working. Eventually, ya figure out that you've gotta use the boomerang to pick up the bomb, and throw it directly at the stone.

It's a clever bit of puzzle design. It takes information you've learned, and forces you to build on it in order to find the solution.

For one brief shining moment the game actually had me engaged.

@Kaynil I dunno if I'd recommend it. It occupies a place in my heart because of the time in my life when I encountered it. But in many ways it's just another '90s sitcom. The situation is different, but the style of humor is the same.

Essentially it's about wealthy, educated, foppish psychiatrist brothers, living in Seattle in the '90s. Here's some clips:

@Link I'm familiar with Cheers. It never really grabbed me, though. I find the main characters a lot less enjoyable.

Yesterday I watched both "Dredd" and "Judge Dredd." Because yeah.

I've never had the time to get into the comics, but I've enjoyed the '95 film since I first saw it as a teenager. It's campy, and Rob Schneider ruins every single scene that he's in, but honestly I think it's pretty underrated. The costumes, set design, and special effects are are enjoyable. The plot is fine and the situations they put the characters into are fun. Aside from his annoying catchphrase, and his propensity for taking off his helmet, Stallone is actually pretty well cast as Dredd.

Of course, Dredd is immensely better. I didn't actually like the movie much when I saw it in theatres back in 2012, possibly because I had to endure wearing 3D glasses. But upon second viewing, I really did enjoy it. Disappointing it won't get a sequel.

So, longshot, but I just got through re-watching this show, and I'm curious if anybody else is a fan?

I enjoy old multicam shows, and this one in particular is like comfort food to me. I started watching it every night when it was on TV the first few months after I had to drop out of college, and it burrowed a little hollow for itself in my heart.

Boil some Fusilli noodles. Add some oil and salt to that water, don't be a lazy fuck about it, make your noodles good. Stir them. Let them soak in that flavor.

When they're done, strain em and throw em in a pot.

Add your chopped up vegetables. Light and savory, not too much crunch. Tomatoes, chives, kale, maybe a bit of celery. Don't you put any fucking carrots or potatoes in this shit or I will find you.

Drizzle your red wine vinegar over the whole concoction.

Eat it until it is gone.

Regarding BotW, I'm honestly just indifferent. Aside from a few screenshots, I don't actually know anything about BoTW. It looks decently attractive, and I hear it's open world, but in 2017 every game is attractive and open world, so that doesn't really mean much. I understand it's also got DLC announced already? I take that as a pretty bad sign.

I think game library is the biggest issue with the n64. There really just aren't that many decent games for it outside of the classics.

The controller and the cartridge media are the reason the library is bad, but neither of those two things by themselves would be that bad.
