Just bought a second Wii U....

I just bought a second Wii U Console. It is the special Zelda 32gb edition. It looks great. I bought it from Gamestop for $120 USD and it looks like it is really GOOD shape. I kept the new Gamepad, and synced my old gamepad to the new console for my son. I sync the new gamepad to MY Wii U, and I noticed there are dead pixels and a left-analog stick drift. THIS CONSOLE is CERTIFIED REFURBISHED by Gamestop and the gamepad has TWO obvious problems. What a joke. I just literally paid $117.00 USD to Nintendo and I am sending in my new used refurbished gamepad in to Nintendo to have them officially repair it.

Moral of the story is, do not buy refurbished shit from gamestop. I did buy a two year warranty on it but I guarantee they WONT fix it, they will just replace it with another shitty Gamepad. I like the Zelda theme on it and it does look good. So I will pay the money have it fixed and move on.

Oh, wow. Too bad something as promising didn't work out well. It is good you still got the edition and can have Nintendo to do an official repair. I hope that won't take too long.

Just got my Wii U gamepad back, and the problems are resolved. Nintendo repair teams are better than Gamestop refurbishments.

I am glad that worked out really well once Nintendo was in charge of it.

I don't know how Gamestop can "Certified" refurbishments, it basically made you paid twice for it.
I am going to be wary for second hand at EBGames and stuff, since it is my understanding their parent company is still Gamestop.

With all that aid, I am happy that is now something in the past for you.

I am thinking of sending my bill to Gamestop and seeing if I can get a refund because i paid 120 for the console and 117 for the repair....

I am not sure how likely they'd be to honor it, but if you are seriously consider it, might as well give that a shot. You'd have nothing to lose and potentially something to gain.

I'm with Kaynil on this. I don't think it would hurt to ask. Especially since you have nothing to lose and potentially something to gain.

They outright refused lol. They refunded the 2 year warranty of 20$ though.

Well it is pretty evident that GS is going out of business within the next few years. They wanna pinch every penny. That way the higherups can get a good severance before the Liquidation.

Yeah, I forgot about that and I think you're right. They want to keep every penny they can. I wouldn't buy anything else from GS ever again after seeing this.

So... Their repair with the guarantee you bought which was worth over a hundred didn't work out, so they just refunded the extra money you payed to add the guarantee thy couldn't honor.
