What color is Link's hair? 15

    1. Blonde (8) 53%
    2. Brown (2) 13%
    3. Pink (1) 7%
    4. Chimichanga (4) 27%

Is Link a blonde, or a brunette?

    Agreed.

I see no reason for further discussion.

Hahah. It really depend on his incarnation. I think old school Link had brown hair and it was only starting a Link to the Past he became blonde... I wonder if the change was related to gaining popularity outside of japan. Ocariona of Time was the first Zelda game where Link had a real update in his look.

The oft-cited reasoning is that they made link Blonde to make him attractive, and thus draw in lady gamers. Although I suspect that this is a case of putting the cart before the horse. I don't think Nintendo intentionally targeted the female libido. But, having known many many (many) women whose first crush was adult Link in OoT, I can see why a lot of folks assume the brown>blonde switch was targeted at the straight ladies.

I always assumed it was to separate the yellow part of his hood with the hair. Yellow on yellow in that pixelated little guy might have been confusing.

Looking for the sprite I also note his hat and tunic are a different shade of green.

The sprite and art doesn't really match that much, does it?
