It's not that I think Metroid games are bad. I've enjoyed playing Metroid and Super Metroid, but neither has actually engaged me enough for me to play for very long. And I strongly disliked the 3D metroid games.

Why? I understand Other M... but the Prime trilogy? -

I think the only one I actually played was Metroid Prime, so it's entirely possible the others were better. But my primary issue was about the game engine, which I understand didn't change between the prime games.
It just felt awkward to me. The first person perspective made the jumping difficult, and the look-around speed was really slow. The "scanning" mechanic seemed like a time waster, and the game was frustrating to try and progress through. I kept getting turned around, and stuck on puzzles.
Which isn't to say that they were bad games. I just didn't like them.

I guess I like them so much because they're the first Metroid experience I had. I do enjoy the 2D games just as much though.
As I said about Other M, I understand why people wouldn't like that game,but it's definitely not as bad as people say it is.

Having not played Other M, I suppose I can't really say. =P
Perhaps I ought to give Prime another go. I've been meaning to give Super Metroid a serious try for awhile now. I've never gotten very far in that game either.

Hmmm Yeh I haven't found super metroid yet. I refuse to emulate or virtual console. I'm sude it'll be fantastic. You should maybe try fusion on GBA if you haven't already.

Metroid and Metroid Fusion.
I haven't finished the first Metroid, though I did like it. I'd finish it if I had the actual cartridge.

I still need to play that Metroid Trilogy thing I have here. I don't play wii games because batteries.
