Does anybody understand the Fight Forum?

I don't really get its purpose, and nobody seems to be posting in it much. It's not for serious debate or discussion. But it's also not for actual fights between members. It's for playing around, I guess?

It seems like this could be rolled into the Spam & games forum pretty easily.

I tried to make a thread to explain the purpose of the area to what I could remeber it was for: http://forums.zeldacavern.com/index.php?thre…-fight-zone.41/
But to be honest, probably that's not even what @Link had in mind and he might explain better than anyone the purpose of it.
The way I see it the idea is that we have a place to move arguments or people getting along too heavily to those zones and have an area for members to deal with their stuff there rather than spread it in every topic they visit.

It could, given the topics and the fact that it was created before we had a spam section. I don't think they are related. Its subforum pokemon battle could go inside general pokemon talk.
I'd like to hear more opinions from other members about this zone before moving or altering it.

EDIT: While we're on the subject. I wouldn't mind a "Serious Discussion" forum. Somewhere to talk about politics or philosophy or ethics.

Some people get bummed out by those topics, so keeping them separate from the general forum will allow those people to easily avoid topics that will be stressful for them. Plus, a separate forum allows the threads to have a certain gravitas, which helps prevent them from getting derailed.

I personally think the best decision is to merge the Fight Forum with the Spam & Games Forum. Once you think about it, posts in the Fight Forum technically are part of a game.

I don't care either way. Never use the fight forum myself. Don't like fighting makes me cry.

Which is kinda part of the problem for me. Is the forum for the kind of fighting that makes people cry? The whole "Go to hell" "suck my dick" kinda fighting? If so, isn't that the kind of behavior moderators are supposed to shut down entirely? Why would there be a forum for something that is against the rules?

I'm being a little facetious here, but I honestly don't understand what the fight forum is for.

At this point I'd say to delete the whole forum entirely, as it seems to serve no purpose that could benefit this site. If it's called the Fight Forum, problems are sure to arrive.
