WoltLab Burning Board

If anyone wants to register on http://phorums.phantasia4.net and test out my WoltLab burning board installation they can. I would appreciate it. If you could also tell me what you think about it. My name there is Pallando if you wanted to get ahold of me.

It's beautiful. I want to use this software for a future project. Did you install it yourself or did you have someone do it for you?

I think it is similar to Xenforo. I think XF is a little easier to manage but....

I don't really see the similarities between WBB and XenForo, but then again I have not used XenForo as admin. To me, WBB looks like a watered-down version of IPB.

As someone who's used Burning Board before, I really, really wouldn't be that happy if Zelda Cavern switched to it. I mean, it's not terrible software, but I've always found XenForo just so, so much more enjoyable to use as a member.

It also near enough killed my last site's community altogether...

No I have too many XF licenses to switch over but I still wanted to try it on my small forum

Personally, I prefer WBB to XenForo. Seeing how I intend to use WBB for a future community that I will launch next year, may I ask how it near killed your last site's community?

I was curious about that too. There is an uncanny similarity with the forums layout. And how you can stack WBB with options to basically mimic it.

WBB offers an official blog, gallery, resource and enhanced search addon.

I'm not moving ZCF or FdLCdZ to them, but I still want to test out all the forums software that I had never owned. Just to see how the differed.

I think it is good to test, if only to know what are your options in case some other software goes sour.

From a member perspective I still like Xenforo more than IPB or Wotlab Burning boards but what the latest include sounds pretty good. At least with Xenforo, the base is more expensive and you most likely need to pay a lot extra to get the functionality of blog, gallery and resource that tWBB offer as part of their software. I don't know how it fares against IPB as I have never owned that one.
