Games that never get old?

Which games to you play over and over again because you like them so much and they never seem to get old? Why do you like that game so much?

Ocarina of Time. I can play that game anytime. It always makes my day.

Middle-Earth The Shadow of Mordor.
I own it like 8 times and have beat it like 8 times.

A Link to the Past - Can I ever not own or play this game?

Yeah, I'd have to agree that Link to the Past pretty much never gets old for me. I play it every couple years.

The first three Metal Gear Solid games are also games that I replay pretty frequently.

Ya know, I got a copy of Soul Reaper for my PS1. I loved it, but I never got around to really digging into it or beating it.

Dang. That opening cutscene is friggin' great too, I'd forgotten how appealing that game was.

Those are some dinky wings to start with, though.

Luigi's Mansion (both for the GameCube and the 3DS)
Harry Potter : Quidditch World Cup (for the GameCube)

I'm fanatic about both games. I actually hope the make another one of each of those games for the Nintendo Switch. I wouldn't mind it if they did make new games of those for the Switch.

I have all the Harry Potter games. The first few games are for the GameCube and the later ones are on the Wii.

I forgot to mention why. A lot of it is the music, which combines with the visuals to create atmospheres that I find very appealing. In that sense it entertains my imagination and emotions. It has great nostalgic value because of this.

The gameplay is simple but leaves some room for finesse and mastery. Playing it is like rehearsing a song you've learnt to play, and brings a good feeling when you do it well

What the game doesn't have is challenges for the mind; no deep storyline and no room for strategy. There's not even any challenging puzzles, only tricks and secrets you learn once and then you got it. I can see how this can leave some wanting.

Final Fantasy games also hold great replay value to me, though they require more investment. I've done FFVI several times, VII a couple (yet never finished), IX at least twice and X too. The story plays a bigger role in those games, of course, and there's a lot more room for building your individual strategy. However, this sometimes puts me off as there's so many choices to make. The feelings through music, atmosphere and storyline are just as big a reason for me to go back to FF

Zelda: Breath of the Wild :D - Me in ten years.

Right now though, Metroid Prime, Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark... there are more...

I actually really like replaying Super Mario Sunshine. I like the laid-back tone, playing it is so much fun. The Galaxy games I think are better, but somehow less appealing to replay. You have less freedom to fool around surfing for no apparent reason.

Oh yeah, Soul Reaver is pretty nice still.

Perfect Dark is still pretty entertaining to me as well as other N64 games!
For some reason, there is something in Mario Kart 64 that brings me back to it even if later games have remade many of the tracks and stuff. :-D
