Mario Kart 8 Dx releases a free BotW Update

On the 19th of July, Nintendo released a free update for its switch game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This is a very welcome surprise for a game that was released a year ago and is basically a port of a Wii U game that had already received DLC.

The Breath of the Wild update includes:

Vehicle, wheels to form the Master Cycle Zero.

A paraglider similar to the one Link uses in Breath of the Wild.

A secondary skin for Link to resemble the one from Breath of the Wild.

I am sure I wasn't the only one that after discovering the Master Cycle Zero wondered just how fitting it was for Mario Kart races, yet I honestly didn't imagine they would do this a year after both games have been out. It is something simple but appreciated.

Has anyone tried the set yet?

Dang, when I heard there were free updates coming I was hoping they'd be a little more interesting.

Not that I have any room to complain, it is a _free_ update, but IMHO all the various cart & skin choices are kinda overwhelming and pointless already without adding more.

I wouldn't mind paying a bit for more teacks and characters but all thibgs considered, I feel satisfied with the game as it is now that deluxe brought back The battles with some proper new tracks for them.

The game is solid as it is now, I can't argue with that. I usually feel kinda cheated by racing games, but with all the old DLC content included in the Delux game I am pretty satisfied.

None the less, when they said "more updates are coming for MK8," my hopes maybe got a little higher than they ought to have. IMHO all the vehicle + wheel + glider choices are my least favorite part of the game. The last thing I want is more of them.

Fair enough.

Really most people just have a few combinations they use and the rest gets ignored. I agree the catalogue for making your vehicle is a bit too much.

Heck, I still haven't unlocked everything and I don't even test everything I unlock.

I honestly just feel overwhelmed by it. Sometimes I just want to play a kart race, why do I have to choose 300 things before I can race? Just let me race, Nintendo.

I am just grateful the game remembers your last choice, specifically vehicles. It would be a huge hindrance if it didn't. Haha.

Once you got a combination you feel comfortable with you can just mindlessly thumb A... A... A... Through it.

Unless you get something new, then you have to search around for whatever you used to use. Which is kind of difficult for the wheels, honestly. They all look the same.
