Mario Kart 8 Dx releases a free BotW Update

  • On the 19th of July, Nintendo released a free update for its switch game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This is a very welcome surprise for a game that was released a year ago and is basically a port of a Wii U game that had already received DLC.

The Breath of the Wild update includes:

Vehicle, wheels to form the Master Cycle Zero.

A paraglider similar to the one Link uses in Breath of the Wild.

A secondary skin for Link to resemble the one from Breath of the Wild.

I am sure I wasn't the only one that after discovering the Master Cycle Zero wondered just how fitting it was for Mario Kart races, yet I honestly didn't imagine they would do this a year after both games have been out. It is something simple but appreciated.

Has anyone tried the set yet?

  • The game is solid as it is now, I can't argue with that. I usually feel kinda cheated by racing games, but with all the old DLC content included in the Delux game I am pretty satisfied.

None the less, when they said "more updates are coming for MK8," my hopes maybe got a little higher than they ought to have. IMHO all the vehicle + wheel + glider choices are my least favorite part of the game. The last thing I want is more of them.
