Back to the start of the year, we had two Nintedo big IPs coming out this year to the Switch many of us got crazy about: :Loz:: :BotW: and Mario Odyssey.

For some reason that eludes me we haven't even talked ab9ut the later at all here. Let's fix that!

For starters, I love the music trailer and theme song they are using to push the game.

Thanks. I will do this straight away. :-D

But I still encourage our switch owners to share it here as well, to make easier to find add other people through this thread.

I am up for Mario Kart 8 Dx and Splatoon 2 (turf and Salmon Run mostly) and hopefilly soon other multiplayer games.

As you can corroborate from their official website, a few days ago the Nintendo Switch got updated to version 4. While there have been other updates before, this one has brought a very welcome feature: Now we can record video footage.

Admittedly, it is pretty basic. You can only record up to 30 seconds and the recording quality is pretty low. Considering that with the Wii U we could share full clips on Youtube, it is kind of disappointing it is not even an option.

We also got new icons to choose for your account, including six from Breath of the Wild.

According to News.com there are more new features, including one that hasn't been explicitly mentioned in the update notes, which is support for the USB devices through the dock of the console, such as wireless headphones. Other changes:

    ■ Now you can transfer your user and save data (including eShop purchases) from one switch to another, so if you are sharing, buying a system for you doesn't mean you have to start over.

    ■ Pre-purchase option so you can avoid the download congestion and have your game already downloaded to your console and ready to play as soon as it reaches the release date.

    ■ Cosmetic changes to the News channel and fixing the bug where the unfollowed content was still being displayed on the news screen.

What did you guys think of the update?

I know, I know. I should've made a general Splatoon 2 topic. However, that wouldn't be enough for me. I think I have a problem. I am addicted to that mode. Every time is going on I want to jump right in.
Today for the first time I was able to play with three friends, and boy that was pretty fun. Time flew right out of the window.

I've joined Splatoon discord channels just for the hope of finding a team to tag along with. I don't know exactly why I find it more compelling than irritating but I wanted to have a place to discuss it in this community so here we go.

Use this thread to talk about the Salmon Run mode, show us some of your captures and even organise some gaming sessions. Expect me to share my twitter shares in the mode and some captures here.

I know that feeling of helplessness too. I hope it's okay for me to say this, but why don't you expand your horizons kaynil? I don't know anything about Zelda but I like the community here. I would love to drop by one in a while but I don't know what to talk.... So.....

Don't sweat. I am always eager for people to speak to speak their mind regarding things. You are as much part of this community as anyone else. I don't want to make you and other people feel alienated simply for not knowing or caring enough about the franchise. Although I want the niche of the forum to be Zelda, in no way I want to make this thread sound like I want to discourage the discussion of non-Zelda topics, I simply want in addition to them to make sure we do have something Zelda related to provide for people joining for our niche. So by all means, don't let our identity as a Zelda community intimidate you. If you want to talk about Anime or anything else you care about, bring it on. Above everything else I want this to be a community. I want members to make bonds and good memories. :J

So, it's not surprise my life got thrown around and I ended up having very little presence here which in turn brought everything down. I sincerely apologise for that.

I love Zelda and I want to make this work. When I started a Zelda Community of my own there were three things I wanted from it:
    1. For it to be friendly
    2. For it to actually thrill in Zelda discussion
    3. For it to be engaging.

In the past the idea of a huge success frightened me and it has always pushed me down. I don't think Zelda Cavern deserves that. I think we need to aim to be our best version yet. I want you guys to enjoy being here and to create bonds like the ones I created when I was younger and frequented communities.

I still want to unify sections, appearances, prefixes, smilies, etc between both sides so I will be gathering your opinions on different matters to apply changes that will make the community easier to navigate, get some recurrent events and promote more engagement and Zelda discussion.

My computer is fixed. Tomorrow I am getting some kickass desk to comfortable spend hours tweaking behind the scenes and posting around. I will begin to advertise and possibly get us some additional trustworthy staff to help us around.

Before that, I want to take a look on the current staff to organise ourselves. This year I have learned from other communities how to better act as a leader and staff member and I am eager to apply what I have learned. I know I haven't been the best leader and I want to turn that around. Thank you for bearing with me.

If there is anything, in particular, you would like to see happening here. I am interested to hear it.

    Thank you.

So, an old complain I can recall is the way we have the Zelda games sections, which some people find tedious. In the Spanish side of the community, a long while ago we discussed the possibility of putting some games together but trying to still try to make it something more original than the classic portable, retro, newer game approach many forums have.

In the Spanish side of the community, we have each Zelda game straight in the index, in order of release. This makes them easy to spot and makes most of the index Zelda related. However, this also showcases the disproportional amount of discussion according to the games and as more games get released it will only grow longer and longer.

Anyway, the idea if we go by timeline is creating four sections:
    one for the Pre-OoT games
    One for the Fallen hero
    One for the Adult Hero
    One for the Young hero

...hmm... where could we place BotW? :XD:

Anyway, the names would be taken from Hyrule Historia, not this ones I am typing at 3 am. Hahah.
I am open and eager for ideas. Thank you!

The games themselves in each section could be separated with prefixes. :)

It's time. The wecond DLC is almost here and many have completed the game. I think we can have a discussion on this matter.

BotW gas shown elements from the 3 timelines and I have seen plenty of YT videos advocating for BotW placement on each of them. So what do you think?

You got Koroks, Ritos a mention of Twilight and Ganon being mindless and with multiple revivals among other things.

So it's been a while since the game camd out so it is safe to have a thread to openly discuss the moments from infiltrating the Castle to the full ending of the game.

What did you think of Calamity Ganon? Was it difficult? Was it satisfying?

Did you explore the Castle or did you rush straight to the final battle?

I hadn't thought much on that. I always assumed the other world was the Sacred Realm and that they were alive but now bounded into their responsibilities so they couldn't continue their normal life they had before being awakened.

Another reason I didn't assume they ascended to sages after their life was claimed is that we see Ganondorf destroying a sage in a Twilight Princess cut scene. I assumed he killed the sage then and not their spirit.

I always took Saria's quote as the realusation he was a Hylian and not a Kokiri.

Anyway, following that logic then someone else would have to become a sage but I guess for Link that is mist lilely a dungeon he doesn't have to do if Darunia does it before him. :XD:

Watched Logan Lucky, out of curiosity mostly as some stars play quite different roles from what comes to mind when I see their names.

Popcorn movie. You gotta suspend some beliefs (like work security protocols ). The chemistry between the different actors works well.

Updating the trailer on Pete's Dragon.

Ended up not watching it. Might watch on Netflix but I am not that interested.

I watched Beauty and the Beast. It was alright, I guess. It was based on the musical so there's a lot of singing. They tried to add more sense with a new tool and background but the new tool opens some plotholes and they never do much with the shoehorned background.

Anyway, I think the fad is slowly dying out. Any keepers?

So... everybody who's familiar with the anime and have watched it seem to have a strong opinion about it.

I am hoping to watch it today, hopefully it is not as horrible as some 9f my friends say.

Memes are everywhere so I already got a bit spoiled. :XD:

Are you planning to watch it?
What did you think of it on its own and in comparison with the source material?

Does this belong here or in games?

I guess either would work but Zelda talk promotes a more in depth answer than the forum games. I guess I can always move it if you guys like me to.

    So...
What would have happened if Darunia had defeated Volvagia in OoT?

I guess Link would had one dungeon less to worry about. Other than that it would be the same Darunia would become a sage and have the 'talk' on the Sacred Realm.

What would have happened if Vaati had killed Ezlo instead of turning him into a hat?

Are there any switch accessories you have your mind on? I am considering getting one of those joycon control chargers.

Not the simple Nintendo one that turns out needs you to link to the console to charge anyway, but ine with a battery so you can keep them charged while you play on the TV.

Ate there any accessories you think a worth a look?

I was considering buying an extra set of joycons to presync in case of having guests over but mamma mía: They sure are expensive.

I mean maybe it is expected nowadays to pay a bit more than a hundred for them but all I can think is that they are more expensive than the games themselves and that makes me harder to justify getting them. Specially since I don't have that group of friends I am eager to meet with and game away.
