I read the other day that the creator of the Castlevania Netflix show is in talks about starting an Animated Zelda TV show for netflix. I have no idea if this is true or not just figured I would post it and you guys could discuss it.

I'd watch it for the kicks. It would be crazy hard for them to appeal to all fanbases. Do they go goofy cartoon like they did in that old one I can't remember the date of? (well excuuuuse me Princess!) Do they go innocent childlike in the vein of WW, PH and ST? Would they go fantasy adventure like BotW, or even TP and OoT? Damned if they do, damned if they don't. What age group do they even target these days with the franchise anyway?
Probably Spongebobs demographic lol
This is the root of the rumour:
An Aldi Shankar's instagram post picked up by The Wrap who claim to have the exclusive.
He never mentioned it was Zelda, people just jumped the gun and went with it. As you can read this statement is so vague that it doesn't even openly said Nintendo. Seems like in one week we'll get to know. Personally I think that Metroid would have more of a chance considering its darker tones and that gamers love Metroidvania k8ind of games.
So it's been a month since the supposed reveal and I haven't heard anything about this. I wonder if the reveal was underwhelming or something.
Oh, I found this:

I am assuming this is the actual reveal. I guess the Wired really winded everyone up and got the attention they wanted with it, haha.
Yeah it is dumb. I think there are many ways they could implement a story for A Legend of Zelda movie or TV Show. Any true fan of Zelda that is currently a director or screenwriter could do a good job. It is those phony fools who take something popular and find a few character names and a synopsis of the story and make a Hollywood film (Dragonball Evolution) and it turns out to be the biggest piece of shit you’ve seen(Dragonball Evolution). You really want to like it, oh they took the story in the wrong entire direction oh well YOU want to like it...but you feel the pressure of the whole production cast just outright shitting on you(Dragonball Evolution).
Though it is a good thing Hollywood would never do that right?
Oh, do you mean like letting Illumination Entertainment Studio be the ones in charge of doing a Super Mario Bros. movie?
To be honest I have mixed feelings about that. I think like you said, things have come a long way and specially f we think CGI, there is very likely we can get a very good story. Thing is I don't trust Illumination to do a memorable movie, all I would be hoping for is that it is not something bad. With movies like Toy Story, I feel like Pixar would make a better fit.
I think depending how the Pokemon movie and this SMB one turns out, we might get a chance to a proper stab at The Legend of Zelda.
I think this Detective Pikachu will be amazing.
If they do decide to do something I hope it is a tv show with 7 episodes per season. That way there is not alot of filler content.
Yeah, I am pretty curious about it. It definitely is unexpectedly darker, which works well considering Pokemon has been going long enough to have adult fans. I want to watch it.
I think a small series like that would work nicely for The Legend of Zelda.

I hate Dragonball Evolution too. I used to think everyone does. But then I made a friend online who thinks Dragonball Evolution is a great film. He also thinks that the prequel Star Wars Trilogy are the best Star Wars movies.
