I can't read this thread without thinking in this video:
Quote from http://mashable.com/2012/12/27/nintendo-64-kids/Brandon Kuzma is better known to the Internet as Nintendo 64 Kid, thanks to a video of him at age 9 — and his sister, Rachel, at age 6 — going ballistic over the game console on Christmas morning.
"It was a Nintendo! Video games equalled melted brains back then to most parents, and I had just gotten used to the idea that we'd probably never have one in our house," Brandon tells Mashable. "So after the first rip of ironically golden wrapping paper, when we saw the beginning of the 'Nin...,' it caught me so off guard. I went through stages...like the initial shock, happiness, disbelief it was even real. By the time I started smacking the box, I didn't even know what to do anymore. I was just super psyched."
The jump from the SNES to the N64 was huge. I think it is something we won't be seeing again in video games. Nowadays the jump on specs just polishes most things but the Nintedo64 was a game changer, the flourishment of tridimensional models and games. It was with it I got involved into the Legend of Zelda and I feel it was what cemented video games as a hobby for life.

Same here: In Mexico, we had ours still around and plugged when I moved out and In Australia, we made sure to get our hands on a console and our childhood games. N64 is a must-have in my household. Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Goldeneye solo or with friends it is still a blast! -
