I just got done at the gym and I am dog tired. Do any of you guys work out? What are your workout motivators? What keeps you motivated and what keeps you going?

Sorry brochacho, I'm a fat fuck.

I should probably start working out before I die.

I was working out during the semester with a bud since he basically has all the equipment on his house. But he's getting a job soon so I kind of dropped it. I got some dumbbells so I'll probably pick up with those starting next week.
I just like to workout so I don't feel like I wasted the whole week doing nothing.

I'm not getting old, I'm killing myself before I hit my 30s

I think gyms are expensive, but I definitely need to work out more, at least at home.
I don't own any equipment here. I want to at least do some weight lifting exercises.

My job is pretty physical. It's just part time though. I want to exercise more, gyms scare me though and they cost money. So maybe just running up and down the stairs + push ups?

My new job is about 4 miles from my house, so I'm going to try taking my bike to and from it. Hopefully that'll help me out some.

Speaking of Gyms, my girlfriend is actually planning to live out of her car for a few months, and is going to get a membership at a chain of gyms in the area so that she'll always have access to a shower and such.

I go to the gym, but I haven't gone in about a month due to camps this month. I'm about to start going back though. What keeps me motivated is my whole past that I'd rather not go into detail about. It's kind of personal.

    *insert something witty here*

I do, started recently after I transitioned from my highly demanding, physical job to a sedentary one. I wanted to try to maintain some form of physical shape/conditioning and I've been gradually making progress on toning/building muscle. I'm in no hurry, too easy to tear something and/or get injured so I'm content to go at it slow.

My motivation is simply that I want to get healthy and be able to participate in things I enjoy.

I'm glad some people showed up who can actually relate to Link on this issue.

I was starting to feel bad about what a community of sadsacks we are.

I like this. I think that's pretty much it. Being healthy and actually being able to do what you like.

I will admit though that I have my bad days where I'd rather be at home and do something else.

I mean, that's every pursuit, right?

No matter how much you love something, if you're dedicated to it and you do it regularly, then you're gonna have a lot of days where you have to force yourself.

Not a fan of working out at the gym if I am honest. I would much rather buy equipment myself and do it at home or failing that I tend to walk to most places I go so I get a lot of exercise that way. I also find it cheaper to do it myself than to go to a gym.

I also do a lot of walking. In college I kept in shape because my my apartment was 2 miles away from the school, and the trip was mostly uphill. Doing that back-and-forth every day (plus my general lack of available food) kept me reasonably fit.

For years after that I lived in an area that was not walking friendly. I put on a lot of weight. Where I live now is a lot better though. It's nice to be walking again.

I feel more active here that I was in Mexico. My job also makes me walk some.

I am the same way, but since I share the house with some housemates I am kind of embarrassed to do any exercise at home at the time. :XD:

I've gone semi-frequently at multiple times in my life. Going to the gym wears me out, but makes me noticeably happier or more talkative. In the long run, it activates me and gives me a sense of achievement. It's also the only cure for my persistent skeletal skinniness. Then again, the gym is super boring.

Today, I tried kayaking for the first time in my life, and I loved it. I have the luxury of living super close to a beach in a city that funds kayaking, so I might just get a wetsuit and paddle around a bit and skip the gym.
