Deadpool (the live-action movie)

Did you watch Deadpool, the overhyped live action movie starring Ryan Reynolds? I did, and I'm probably in the small minority of people who didn't like it. I was expecting a completely different approach to the character. I mean, sure, they got the fourth wall breaking thing right (sort of), but other than that, I found it to be a mess of a movie. It seemed like one of those parody movies made by the guys who took over the "Scary Movie" series (Disaster Movie, Meet The Spartans, Superhero Movie etc.). I know that Deadpool doesn't take itself seriously in the comics, but there's a difference between not taking yourself seriously and making the entire movie a series of jokes with a very thin plotline.

I made a video review about it, even though I don't usually make video reviews on my YouTube channel. This movie bothered me so much that I made an exception.

The only reason I haven't watched your review yet is because I want to watch the movie. I've been getting warnings of not expect to be able to take it too seriously and that iut is a satire of the Comic movie genre, so I really don't know how I will like it. It seems like it all will depend if their humour clicks with me or not. I know the plot won't bee too deep or anything and really i am just expecting this guy to break havoc around.

Marvel is owned by Disney, so for the fact that there were boobs and vag in it. Im in shock because this is the first Disney owned IP that has titties and nono regions in it.

That is something I have completely forgotten about. I didn't even stop to think that they could really tone it down because I keep forgetting that in a way now Disney is behind. :horror:

I am curious to know what was the approach you were expecting it to receive. Are you familiar with the comics? That might help us understand better how it came short.

I agree it was a mess on how to tell the story. It might work in a first time viewing but I know I'll dread it afterwards, it is just a constant pause and flash back until they catch up with the story.

I didn't mind the plot in itself though, I think it was simple to understand and relatable enough. Just focussing on pursuing one man and explaining why.

I was kind of bothered that Colossus had the same eye effect as Deadpool. He looked weird, but the character in itself was pretty funny with his fatherly, gentleman attitude.

The "Moody teenager" felt weak to me, but she could have been way more annoying that she was.

I enjoyed the lampshading and the fourth wall jokes, I was afraid they were going to become too cringey but I think that otehr than at the very beginning they slowed down and made them

Did you guys stayed until after the credits? What did you think?

Yeah, they didn't show that in the movie theater I watched it in. They just faded to white during the credits and we all left.

That is annoying they do that kind of thing. There was a theater I used to go that would pull the same thing. It was really annoying when I knew for sure it had something because my friends had said to me I shouldn't leave and miss it.
