Which is the handheld you have your first memory about? Which Nintendo handheld did you first play on as a child? Do you remember how old you were when it happened?
First handheld you ever played on

My first handheld was probably one of those dollar ones ( BRICK GAME 9999 in 1) that was monochromatic and boasted many games in one (although there were just a few with slight alterations or difficult level), from which I recall Tetris and racing better. I probably was around 7 years old or younger.
I owned several during the nineties, they were pretty entertaining.

Game Boy, with Super Mario Land 1 and 2.

I was going to say the Game Boy, but I saw this picture and I remember having this before the GB.
I might've played a Game and Watch of some sort too.

The first handheld I ever played on was a Gameboy Advanced. I actually still have this too, I found it in an old box not too long ago. :D

That's pretty cool you still have this. :D
I hope you also found some games to go with it. -

I owned one of those too. I didn't even know it was produced by Nintendo at the time. I didn't even know what Nintendo was back then. Haha... :X'D: -

Haha. I don't think they are from Nintendo but they sure seem to have been every where. Pretty cool to know you also had one. Do you remember what colour it was?I probably saw them around long before I owned my first one.

Yeah, my bad. Then I hijacked it with my answer. I was thinking handheld in general. Sorry about that. :>_<: -
This old thing:
The screen was terrible, but it played Super Mario Land 2 and that's all I needed back then.
Holy shit... I feel old.

To correct my past mistake:

I think my first Nintendo handheld was the Gameboy Color and my first owned game was Pokemon Silver.
I don't remember how old I was but I think I was around 14 years old. We bought it from a second-hand market.
IU also recall getting a Game Boy like @Akiranon's for like one dollar. It was dirty cheap.
I can't remember if I got this one first or the other one. For this one, a neighbour lent me Link's Awakening for a day. Haha.
I didn't use it for a while until I bought a few games for it, at the same second hand market. The GBC used less battery and lasted longer so I think I just used that one more. -

My brother played his Gameboy so much, I got really jealous of the attention it was getting, I threw it against a wall.
Idiot child. It survived...because Nintendo and because I was a weedy little turd.

I'm sure I played an Original Gameboy for a few minutes after school, when a classmate was showing off theirs. I think I played some Bubble Bobble.
I'm also certain I played plenty of those old Tiger Electronics games. Those were shit, but it was all we had, yo.
The first handheld I spent any time with was probably the Gameboy Pocket or the Gameboy Color. My cousin let me play quite a bit of Dragon Warrior Monsters and Tactics Ogre on those.

What the heck is that thing.
My first handheld, and first experience with video games, was the Game Boy Advance. I was 4 years old when I first played one, so it was either in 2003 or 2004.

Hahah. Let's say it was the affordable option if a Nintendo handheld was out of your wallet's reach.

^ This. Then I was given a Game Gear, backlit colored screen! Terrible battery hog but it was glorious as I was a huge sega fanboy back in the day :D (Still kinda am......Dreamcast FTW!) -

My first Gameboy colour was a golden Pikachu edition. I think I cleaned that screen once a day.
... if I had it now, it'd be worth a lot.
