Naming your kids after video game characters

Robin Williams loved this series of games so much that he named his daughter Zelda.

Would you ever name your children after video game characters? :pokerlink: Why? Why not? If yes, which characters?

Hahahah. I think that was rad. Zelda is a real name after all.

That said I probably would never name my child anything game related. Not even TLoZ related. I think it might make her or him an easy target of mockery.

Being a big gamer you would think this would be something I would look into and maybe even do however I have never named any of my kids after video game characters. I don't think I would even know what video game character I would name any of my kids after if I had any more kids, something I am curious about now and probably will have a good think about though

I really don't know what metric is good to use for naming a kid.

On the one hand, I'd never want to give a kid a common name. If my kid ever met someone with the same name that they have, I'd like that to be a surprise.

At the same time, I wouldn't want my kid's name to cause them too many problems.

I'd like to give my kid a role model. But have you ever noticed that people with well known names never actually seem to amount to anything themselves?

In the end, I think you should name your kid for your kid's sake.

Zelda is fine because it is an actual name. But anything that isn't just don't.

Is Clementine ok? If my child is a girl, I would LOVE the name Clementine. (From the Walking Dead games) I adore that name way too freakin' much.

Clementine would probably get a pass from people who hate video game names, because it's also a real person name. It shortens to Chloe and Tina, right?

I honestly have no idea what it shortens to, but I REALLY like how the name sounds. Also along with the last name it sounds amazing as well...Clementine Thomas...I hope my child is a girl. :@_@:
