So, I've been giving Twilight Princess another try lately, and the other day I found the first moment of gameplay which isn't garbage.

There's a bit in the Forest Temple, after you get the boomerang, where you have to climb up on a ledge, but there's a rock blocking the path. I tried a few times to get the bomb, then throw it up on the ledge beside the boulder, but that wasn't working. Eventually, ya figure out that you've gotta use the boomerang to pick up the bomb, and throw it directly at the stone.

It's a clever bit of puzzle design. It takes information you've learned, and forces you to build on it in order to find the solution.

For one brief shining moment the game actually had me engaged.

TP is a good game one that I rather enjoyed. GC and Wii U are the best versions though. As I have said I really hated the Wiimote

Unfortunately, since Nintendo is dumb, they don't allow you to play the wii version with the GC controller. Despite the fact that they made a GC version of the game, and the wii has GC ports on it.

That being said, the game is reasonably entertaining to play with one person holding the wiimote, and another person holding the nunchuck.

The wii was when they left the gamers behind and went family. Hence the annoying wiimote. I went back to the ps2 at the time. I think TP starts lamely and gradually improves, and I really like the cinematic style.

I friggin' loathe the 'cinematic style.'

Just yesterday I did this bit that was meant to be some kind of jousting match on a bridge, and at the end there was this ludicrous slow-mo shot of Lunk rearing up on Epurna. The whole thing looked like it was made by a 14 year old who was trying too hard to seem cool.

Dude. They hyped the hell out of that cinematic. Link doing his stance before withdrawing the sword and stuff. TP is full with trying hard to make Link "serious business, really," cool.
Personally I am fine with the cinematic cuts except if they interrupt what I am doing or when something just happened on them but when the control is back to you everything is the same. It feels underwhelming. I can't recall a moment in particular but I had some in TP, if I recall correctly.
