Nintendo asked us to remove this site for copyright infringement. I guess Zelda30Tribute was a little too pixel perfect
We're sad about that, but we get it. We started this project because we love Nintendo and the joy they have given us throughout the years. From the start of development, we knew this result could potentially happen. Nintendo has every right to protect their IP. No complaints from us, we had a blast working on this tribute and made some friends along the way.
Big thanks to the half million folks who played our game! We learned a bunch and wrote some code that others might learn from, too. We plan to post the project to Github soon, once we've had a chance to remove Nintendo-owned assets.

This was not the greatest game in the world, no. This was just a tribute. Thank you Nintendo for the inspiration!

I am happy they did it though, while it wasn't complete what they managed was very nicely done, based on what I was able to see.
So, did any of you guys actually managed to play it?
I haven't played it yet, but I did download the files from the Internet Archive version. Which if you're interested, seems to work out fine:
I didn't even considered the web archive would store this type of pages.
This will help me and others who might have not tried it yet.
I wonder if Nintendo would file a lawsuit if these people hosted their site with a hosting company located in a company that disregards copyright complaints, such as Russia or the Netherlands...
To my understanding, it would just mean that Nintendo wouldn't hope to get the web suspended by contacting the host, but they would still be able to intimidate the programmers directly with their cease and desist. The host probably would be scott free. Well, that is just my guess.

To celebrate Legend Of Zelda's 30th anniversary, some fans decided to create a browser-based replication of the title that started it all on the Famicom / NES.
Go to http://http://zelda30tribute.com/ to play a voxel-based adaptation of the 8-bit classic, built entirely in WebGL. You can play either using the on-screen buttons or your keyboard. Hurry up before Nintendo shuts the site down.

It's way too confusing as to way you have to go. No explanations to start you off at least.
Well, that makes sense I guess. The game was made in an era when people were expected to basically treat games like a real life treasure map and plot out everything themselves through trial and error. Look at it like an old school adventure game, where you had to be extremely careful in regards to your next move.
But it's not a game that people who grew up in later generations can easily get used to.
