I am really tempted to say Alex The Kidd on Sega Master System
I never heard of him before but he kind of look similar to oldschool Link to me.

Alex Kidd was Sega's mascot in the 8-Bit era. Before Sonic came. I'm not particularly fond of Alex Kidd (mainly because I suck at it.) I forgot to mention that the Alex Kidd games are Platformers.
Maybe, was it.. Super Mario? Or something..

I used to own a game CD back then and that game really caught my attention for some unknown reason.
I did play other games but they never game me the same "feel".

I believe for me it was Sonic the Hedgehog. 
I thing that for me it was either some sort of Super Mario game or Sonic the Hedgehog. Not sure what the console was but I think it was one of those specific consoles made for one game or something like that
It was between super mario or duck hunt don't remember exactly though
I remember watching others play atari and there was another atari-like beginner system that I can't remember for the life of me, but my first was duck hunt/mario bros on nes.
Mario Bros. and Contra for me. I use to get really angry when I would the game and start crying. My sister likes to remind me to this day.
Super Mario Bros. as a two-year old on the family's NES apparently (it's not like I actually remember). Man, I don't even want to think about how long ago that was!
First visual memory would have to be Super Mario World (SNES) for me. Also, playing through Donkey Kong Country with my dad.
Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt. One of them. Boring and predictable.
Same here, I'm not sure if they the first I played. But it's my first memory... I think. Other than those two, most of my early childhood game memories are occupied with DOS games like Jazz Jackrabbit, 2D-Duke Nukem and point and click adventure games. (Also, anyone else remember a game series called Roger Wilco?)

Some names just stick with you more than others I guess. I think he was a space janitor who got caught up in a bunch of adventures... And there were lots of ways to die... I don't know. I'm purposely trying not to look it up to test my memory retention because I was sooooo young.

Wow! I actually remembered something totally right! XD
And it makes sense, from space quest 3 onwards, Roger Wilco was the primary name on the box with space quest small on the tip top. So to a kid I guess that means it's called Roger Wilco. XD

This could have been the first game I played. Or it was Kye or Chip's Challenge on Win 3.11.
But it's hard to say because with two elder brothers, games have been present since the beginning of my life. It might have been something on the Amiga 500.
